Know More about this tour

From your accommodation, a gourmet and lifestyle concierge will guide you around the old town and introduce you to the local gastronomy as well as its influence throughout the years on Cartagena’s idiosyncrasy.

You will get to stop at some places where typical and exotic dishes such as Arepa de Huevo (fried corn tortilla with egg and meat inside), empanadas, cocadas, among many other delights will tease your palate; but it’s not until you are led to a nice place where you will satisfy this desire while helping make the most traditional recipes, altogether with the appropriate glass of wine to stand out the variety of flavors.

History, a nice conversation, exquisite food, the heartwarming ambiance of Cartagena and your great attitude are the main ingredients of this experience.

  • Our tour guide Arnold was very good and nice however the price for this store was way too much. We basically ate at a restaurant we received two drinks and A ceviche dish and ate some local food at another restaurant. This is way overpriced for this tour. Would not recommend it , or price should be significantly lowered

  • A very nice walking tour through several different neighborhoods in Cartagena. A good exposure to both street food, restaurants and how the average citizens eat and shop. A fun way to get a feel for how locals live in the walled city.

  • This tour was amazing!

  • This was an amazing tour!!!! I got to walk all over Cartagena with confidence and the safety of an expert and trusting local. He was soo nice and helped me explore all the neighborhoods, taste the fruits native only to Colombia, try Arepa con Huevo YUM!! MY fave!, took me to a restaurant called Mila en la ciudad Amurallada the old city to try Poste, and then finish off with some local coffee. I was so unbelievably happy I booked this and it was a wonderful experience!!

  • OMG, if you do this tour DO NOT eat anything before, believe me they will make sure you get your money's worth, lol. This tour was awesome, lots of delicious snacks from all around the city. Arnold was a nice guide who seemed to know where to get the best treats, and who seems to know just about everybody in Cartagena. He made sure to mix in a little history and culture as we walked around the old city from snack to snack. He even made a pit stop in his old English language school and let me peak at active classes for high school students, and made a teacher/his former classmates. That was unrelated to the rest of the tour, but I still found it very enjoyable. One word of advice I'd give to Arnold in the future though would be to start the tour by framing the day for the guest, what the tour is about, how it will proceed, themes, etc. I say this because for the first 30 minutes of the tour I was convinced I had gone on the wrong tour, lol, it seemed to be focused more on the history of the city rather than its food, but that was quickly remedied. Anyway, if you want to chow down on tasty treats but are maybe unsure of how/where to find them, or fear a language barrier getting in the way, do this tour--you won't regret it. PS Arepas con huevo!
