Know More about this tour

Depart Dublin

We depart Dublin @ 08:00, driving through the midlands down to Blarney, in the beautiful County Cork. We will pass through the Golden Vale, the most fertile lands in all of Europe with green fields as far as the eye can see. We get great panoramic views of the Galtee mountains, as we pass through County Tipperary down to the southern County Cork.

Rock of Cashel

Our first stop will be the world famous Rock of Cashel in Co. Tipperary. One of Ireland's most evocative sites, you can stroll in the footsteps of St. Patrick flanked by ruins, Celtic crosses and round towers. Feel the soul of Ireland. The Rock of Cashel was the traditional seat of the Kings of Munster until they donated the complex to the Catholic Church almost 1,000 years ago for use as a cathedral. One of the best examples of medieval architecture anywhere in Europe. Your entrance fee (EUR 7.00) is included in the price of this tour.

Cork City

Enjoy one hour and thirty minutes at leisure in Cork city, Ireland's southern capital. Highlights include the gourmet English Markets (1788) with a large selection of food stalls representing the best of local produce. Queen Elizabeth II of England thoroughly enjoyed meeting local artisans here on her State Visit in 2011! Also known as the “Rebel City” for its fierce resistance during the War of Independence, Cork has a vibrant Irish atmosphere. Perhaps sample a pint of Murphy's Irish Stout or pick up a bottle of Paddy Flaherty Irish Whiskey.

Blarney Castle

Famed in song and story, the Irish are famous for the “Blarney”. Kiss the Blarney Stone and you too will receive this “gift of the gab” - 7 years of eloquent speech. Situated on the battlements of Blarney Castle you will have to bend over backwards to kiss the stone! You have time to enjoy a stroll around the fabulous gardens of the Blarney Estate or maybe enjoy the beautiful Lake Walk. We also visit the Witches Cave in the castle grounds before having plenty of time to indulge in the tax free shopping haven of the Blarney Woollen Mills and craft shop. Your entrance fee (EUR 13.00) is included in the price of this tour.

Tour ends in Dublin approx. 20:00 in time for evening entertainment.

  • Long day but was very interesting, steps up to the Blarney Stone tho is tight and long and windey.

  • The castle is a must see but surprising so were the stops in Cork and Cashel. Would've like more time to spend in the Woolen Mills.

  • We did have a problem when we showed up to the tour office, Paddy Wagon Tours, they did not have our names. The Paddy Wagon rep said they did not receive our names from Viator. I had the voucher showing we were paid. The tour was not full and we were allowed on the bus so it wasn't a problem but it could have been. The only thing I would change would be to eliminate the stop in Cork, it was too short and really served no purpose. More time to look at the gardens and shops near Blarney Castle would have been better. Overall the tour was fun and interesting.

  • Even though some tour guides don't give Blarney Castle very high marks, I enjoyed this stop very much. The area around the castle ruins are surrounded by a botanical garden with a stream running through it - very beautiful setting for the ruins and the history behind them. Although I suspect that 'kissing the Blarney Stone' is a big joke on the tourists - fun anyway!
My only complaint is the lack of time to explore because it took a while to wait in line to climb the castle stairs.

  • Again, the company misleads a bit with their description of the amount of time you will have in each place. You really have to rush through if you want a chance to get to the Woolen Mills or explore the grounds.

  • This tour was amazing!

  • This was one of the best tours my husband and I have ever taken. Of course, the sites were amazing, but the entire experience was absolutely enhanced with our driver, Val O'Brien. Kudos to him because he was funny, entertaining, and very knowledgable. We had a blast and would definitely do another tour with Val again. As for the tour sites and day, it was well planned and each site had more than enough time to take it all in. Without a doubt, Paddywagon tour with Val O'Brien is a must when you visit Dublin.

  • Blarney Castle and the grounds are totally worth it. Had a less than comfortable bus which affected my experience. Also, would recommend dropping the stop in Cork. That would give you more time at Blarney. Would I do it again? Of course!

  • This was a great day! We enjoyed the tour with Baily our tour guide! We had Five in our group and all rated this as one of our favorite days!!

  • Darren was very personable and had good stories to tell. Unfortunately, someone had a panic attack at Blarney Castle and they had to shut down the whole works while they got the person out so the wait to kiss the stone was over 2 hours. We decided not to do that because it would have been the only thing that we did there. We explored the grounds and Blarney House and enjoyed shopping at the mill. At Cork, we went to a pub and watched a hurling match. I don't know that you could get a more Irish experience than that!
