Overview

Red Hands Cave is a guided walking tour in the lower Blue Mountains. Your guide will take you to one of the most historic Aboriginal places in Australia with stenciled art placed there by the Aboriginal people dating back over 1,600 years from the Darug and Gundungurra people. On your tour your guide will show you bush tucker and you will get to see an old ancient part of the National Park where the Indigenous once sharpened their tools and gathered their food. We oftenget to see and hear lyrebirds and see Kangaroos that often frequent this area. Our tour is great for families with a minimum age of 6. The track is graded easy to medium.

Know More about this tour

Our tour runs on the first Saturday of each month. Our tours are limited in numbers so bookings are essential especially during school holidays and summer months. (Whilst we advertise the tour as three and half hours return, this time may be extended depending on size and fitness of group)

All guests meet in the car park near the Ranger station inside the Blue Mountains National Park located at the end of Bruce Road, Glenbrook at 10.30am. This time is subject to change due to weather conditions and you will be advised prior to your walking tour if the time has been changed. If you drive your vehicle inside the park you will need to buy a vehicle pass and display inside your vehicle. We encourage everyone to remain in the park after your tour and see the Kangaroos, the views from Mt Portal or cool down and take a dip in the Jellybean pool. A representative from Great Camping Adventures, who own and operate this walking tour will be there to greet you from 10.30am. They are easily identified and will be in uniform.

After a short safety briefing all participants will follow the tour leader in their own vehicle to the car park at the commencement of the Red Hands Cave walk.
