Everything from pick up to drop off was great. David was our tour guide. We spotted toucans on the way. We were the only people, so we had a private tour, which was nice.

We visited here as part of a day tour and had a guided hike. We did not see any exciting large wildlife, but did see where Tapirs had barreled through the brush. We got to see some cool insects, a couple of short nosed green vine snakes and variety of the less spectacular birds. The star of the show was the waterfall where we got our Christmas Card shot! It takes at least minimal mobility as the drop to the viewing platform is 253 steps down and then 253 steps back up. The view was more than worth it. We had a very considerate guide that also educated us in the flora that we were walking through and patiently answered all our questions.

We enjoyed the hike along the blue river, it was really beautiful and we saw some wildlife along the way. It was amazing when we reached the end of the hike to see the source of the volcanic particles flowing into the river from underground. There was also a beautiful waterfall. I would give this a higher rating if we didn't receive spam and junk mail from them 3-4 times a day, and we can't seem to block it. I've emailed the company but the spam continues.

I wasn't sure about which company to use and trust for this excursion as in the past I have used a private party to book this. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at how organized and easy dealing with this company was. I booked everything online, received confirmations instantly, and was able to call the company and someone answered every time and knew what was going on at all times. It was truly impressive. I would highly recommend this company if you were looking to book any tour while in CR. They are very easy to deal with, and they have very knowledgeable and pleasant guides who work for them We did the Rio Celeste tour, which has change since we did it last time 8 years ago. Some of the trails have been closed due to damage from past hurricanes. Although the scenic routes we took last time were not open anymore, we still had a great time. Thank you Ecoterra!

This tour was incredible! From our driver Jorge, to our guide Mainor we had the best experience. Your fun begins as soon as you are picked up from your hotel. We traveled from La Fortuna so the drive was a few hours but we learned all about the local area and stopped at a 400 year old Kapok tree for photos. We arrived at Tenorio and were given walking sticks (please use them, they really help) and started our journey on one of the most beautiful hikes I have ever taken. The water of Rio Celeste is indescribably blue. The hike had its challenging moments, the ground is muddy even when not raining so the the walking sticks came in handy. It was so much fun! Mainor is amazing, he really cares about his environment and the beauty of his country. He picked up trash that was discarded along the trail... he is very knowledgeable and was able to pick out animals we never would have seen without a guide. After the hike he provided us with an ice cold beer and then we went to a local restaurant for lunch (amazing)!!! I highly recommend this tour.

We hired this tour outfitter for a trip to Tenorio National Park and the Celeste River hike, a two-hour trip from Fortuna and our hotel. Our guide was knowledgeable and explained the chemical reaction that occurs when the two rivers meet with different pH's and minerals. He pointed out several birds to us, and explained the history of this area, the volcano, etc. His english was very good, and seemed to enjoy his job as a guide. He allowed us plenty of time to take pictures at the waterfalls, the spot where volcanic gasses were bubbling up in the River, and at the end of the trail where the two rivers met and the chemical reaction turns the water into the most unreal shade of blue you've ever seen in water. Also, EcoTerra offered us the use of walking sticks for free. Please use them! Several within our group declined, and regretted it later. Afterwards, we were taken to a nice little diner for our lunch (provided in your fees). The resaurant baited the area with hanging banana bunches, which attracted a variety of toucans and white-headed capuchins. Their vehicle was comfortable and equipped with A/C and wifi. No problems at all with this outfit and guide service.
