Know More about this tour
Oscar Wilde called it, "Incomparable." John Berendt gave it to the world in the pages of "Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil." Through 250 years, few cemeteries have touched the hearts and minds of artists and people, as has Bonaventure. Saying the name to a Savannahian is like speaking of their fondest friend. Let us guide you through her 100+ acres, and reveal things that simply can't be understood or experienced by simply going there on your own. Like a great dinner party, a part of Bonaventure's ritual is having a local make your acquaintance to all of the interesting characters, but before introducing you, we'll give you the story scoop on each, and you'll soon fit right in! Some that await are Johnny Mercer, Little Gracie, Conrad Aiken, Harry Hervey, and so many others famous and just "every day," that you'll be dizzy with details and images that will keep you coming back for a lifetime!

Loved it!!! Richard our guide gave us so much history and interesting information. Saw many beautiful statues, heard fascinating stories, and loved the huge oaks that are everywhere! A great experience!
-
Our tour guide Chris was knowledgeable and engaging. Great way to learn about the history of Savannah and really fun to hear some of the personal stories behind it. Highly recommend.
-
My wife and I really enjoyed our tour. Steven was great and was very knowledgeable. He took his time and answered our numerous questions. So much history with this cemetery. Too much to digest in one tour. We would definitely do it again.
-
This was our 2nd tour of Bonaventure Cemetery and it did not disappoint. Fun, interesting, and delightful singing by Dawn of the Dead! We will take another tour next time we visit Savannah!
-
Great tour with a lot of information and explanations. I recommend this tour for anyone that has 2 hours free. This is a 100% walking tour, so take some water to drink on the way.
-
This was a pleasant and very informative afternoon. The cemetery is not necessarily beautiful at this time of year but it certainly has an immense amount of history all of which Steve, our guide, presented to us. He had done his homework, was funny and very enthusiastic, which is hard to do for a full 2 hours. I recommend the tour and especially Steve. I plan to visit again in March when the azaleas bloom.

Our guide, Steven, kept us well-informed throughout the walking tour. Steven is a master storyteller and historian. I thoroughly enjoyed our trek through this beautiful and mysterious cemetery.
-
Our tour guide Dawn was excellent and took great pride in sharing her knowledge about the cemetery. It was a rainy day that seemed to add to the setting somehow. Also a nearby funeral home hearse drove by on our entrance to the grounds and also on our exit of the grounds. Dawn even sang a Johnny Mercer medley of songs at his gravesite. Full of great storytelling and various examples of symbology and culture. This tour is well worth it and is a nice contrast to the inner city. Learned so much about the lore of this very unique cemetery. We loved it!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour of this historic, beautiful cemetery. Our guide Chris shared his knowledge of this historic , Savannah site and shared stories of some of its famous residents buried there. Walking the grounds of this beautiful cemetery was memorable. The Scotts

We were worried that this could be another tour where people recites texts learned by heart… in fact, it was all the contrary: our tour guide actually went to school with the person in the book “midnight in the garden of good and evil” and even worked in the cemetery. It was entertaining even on a rainy day. Read the book first if you can.
