Savor the aromas of fresh-baked French bread as you enter a local bakery, where youll meet the baker and share his passion for the traditional way of making bread. You'll also get to taste a fresh baguette straight out of the oven!

Next, head to one of Bordeauxs most famous chocolate makers, whose secret recipes have been kept alive for generations. Youll be greeted by the owner and be presented with a variety of flavored chocolates, from ginger to green tea to olive. Youll be delighted by these surprising combinations!

Continue with a Tour de France of cheese at a local cheese shop. Indulge in some of the most classic and beloved French cheeses such as Comt, Roquefort and Brie while learning the know-how of French cheese makers (the experts).

With your taste buds warmed up, youll end your gourmet food tour with a buffet lunch in a typical Bordeaux apartment. Enjoy a hearty spread of the products you tasted during your tour, as well as some canels (a typical regional cake), served with local Bordeaux wine.

Mdoc Wine Tour
After lunch, board the minivan and embark along the Chteau Route past famous chteaux such as Margaux, Latour or Mouton-Rothschild. Learn about the Bordeaux wine region from your guide, and stop along the way for photo opportunities.

Arrive at your first stop, a charming family-run estate. Tour the chteau and its cellars before taking part in a wine workshop. Your expert guide will give you tips and techniques on how to identify aromas and flavors as you sample the chteaus wines.

Then, head to your second stop, a classified growth chteau known for its high-quality wine. Learn about the winemaking process as you tour the vineyard and visit the cellars, and then taste the chteaus wines with some French appetizers including local cheese, fresh bread and saucisson (dried sausage).

  • We were given an historical, gourmet tasting and wine lovers' tour! We loved it.
But bring your walking's half the day long!

  • The walking tour was good but we do have one caveat. We felt that the tour should have included some sort of pastry or baked goods, not just a sample of bread at the bakery, The cheese and chocolate stops were very good with delicious samples of fresh chocolate included. Lunch was lovely with salad, quiche and wine. All in all a pleasant experience.

  • We had a wonderful day and Claire our guide did a great job. Walked the city for about two hours and saw and learned about many interesting facts of Bordeaux. Went on a tour of a baker shop and a chocolate factory. The family had been making chocolate since 1893 and he explained in detail the steps and process for making the chocolate. We got to sample the chocolate as we went through the steps which was wonderful. We enjoyed a quiet lunch and then toured two wineries in the Medoc area. Learned a lot about wine making and gained a new appreciation for wine. Recommend this tour for anyone especially first time people to the beautiful city of Bordeaux.
