Know More about this tour

Your full-day guided wine and culinary tour starts as you leave central Bordeaux by air-conditioned coach, heading for the legendary Margaux appellation (winemaking region), approximately one hour's drive north of Bordeaux. A must-visit place for wine connoisseurs and novices alike, this beautiful area encompasses several villages and vineyards that produce some of Bordeauxs finest, and some say identifiable, red wines.

With your expert guide, enjoy a comprehensive introduction to the region and its wines while touring some of the most distinctive chateaux (estates). Visit Chteau Prieur-Lichine and learn the history of the Margaux appellation and the 1885 classification for which it is famed. Next visit Chteau Rauzan-Gassies, home to a unique cluster of vineyards that predominantly produces the classic Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

After breaking for a gourmet lunch at Le Savoie, a renowned Margaux restaurant, your Bordeaux wine and culinary tour continues to Chteau Kirwan, a family-run winery that has become notable for its aromatically richer wines.

The esteemed Chteau La Tour de Bessan is the last chateau on your itinerary. Here youll learn about all the different grape varieties and the precise art of blending them together in order to make these incredible Bordeaux wines.

An exceptional tour of the Margaux wine region and selected chateaux!
Informative guide, good selection of wines to taste and educational chateaux visits.
    Two points for improvement:
1 the departure of the tour at the tourist office could be better organised. Tour was not clearly called, almost missed our bus
2 food preferences for lunch should be asked at the beginning of the tour. The chef at the restaurant refused to adapt to my food allergies because they were not forewarned. Although I paid for the full lunch, I ended up with only a plate of salad, potatoes and mushrooms for the main course!

This tour was first rate! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and easy to understand. Our winery visits contained a ton of information, wine samples and a food pairing. Our gourmet lunch was awesome. The scenery was beautiful!
The only suggestion for improvement would be at the vineyard where the tour guide and the owner took turns speaking in English and French. This resulted in taking twice as long. Two guides are needed: an English speaker and a French speaker.

This tour was an excellant introduction to the Medoc wine country and 4 different winerys. I was glad we took another tour the next day to St. Emilion because the winerys there were more family owned and we could purchase wine for shipment to the US. The Medoc tour was like touring the larger winerys in Napa...beautiful scenery but you are not tasting their best wines!!The guide was very well versed in his subject matter and was well worth our trip.Food and lunch were excellant and very filling...

a really great day out although our guide did not give such a good commentary in English, and was the first one to sit down for lunch leaving a really great group of people to sort themselves out. However the food and wine made up for the guide, with another guide this would rate five stars

Very professional guide. The day covered several top growth Chateaux with a the red carpet rolled out for all attendees. The lunch provided was delicious with more wines being tasted during lunch. All well timed visits without the feeling of being rushed. Comfortable large bus.

There are few vineyards to see and quite interesting to see the different operations. Lunch was not too bad.
