Overview

This boutique cooking studio is set on the family estate surrounded by 20 acres of land, cultivated with vines and 600 olive trees; we produce Trebbiano and San Giovese wine, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. This property is drenchedin history; it was purchased in the 1960s by the Chef's father, the abstract painter Francesco Clemente. The cottage, that used to be his painting studio, was turned into a cooking studio about 10 years ago, and still today, art and food blend together to create a magic atmosphere. After all, food is art, and your host will be happy to help you create your culinary masterpiece with extreme love and passion.

La Quercia Estate has been nominated by Forbes as the top 5 cooking schools and foodie vacations in Italy!

One of the best vacation experiences we have ever had, and the very best of Italy. I recommend considering staying at their villa, it can be booked separately through the La Quercia website.

My husband and I had a great experience at the cooking class!! Veronica and Margherita were so sweet and attentive to every detail!! You truly learn the tips and tricks on how to make some delicious Italian meals! The location, ambiance, and even wine from their estate was perfect! They give you the recipes to take notes so you can create the same delicious meals at home.

Veronica and Margherita were spectacular! So gracious and kind - definitely a highlight of our two week vacation through Italy and Paris! Our 13 year old son also had a great time and loved it! We will definitely be making plans to stay at the villa on the property soon!

This experience was superb from beginning to end. In fact, it was the highlight of a fabulous two week vacation. The food was delicious, the estate stunning and peaceful, and Margherita and Veronica exude such warmth and kindness. My family highly recommends this experience! Thank you, Margherita and Veronica for your hospitality and the very special day!!

This was perhaps the best experience of our 2 week trip in Italy. Cannot say enough great things about Margherita and Veronica, the wonderful daughter, mother duo. Our family of six truly enjoyed every minute including our youngest, who is 10 years old. We had our transportation from Florence set up by Margherita who communicated with us all throughout the time prior to the visit. We then arrived and had a beautiful apple strudel and warm coffee waiting for us. The villa and cooking studio are straight out of a magazine but Margherita and Veronica’s welcoming demeanor was even more impressive. We then went on to prepare focaccia, a pesto sauce, spaghetti and chocolate cake. Their passion and love for what they do is evident and they are incredibly patient as they guide you through the class. We finished by eating the food prepared, along with a delicious caprese. We then sat and talked with Veronica and Margherita as they shared the history of La Quercia and their family. Highly recommend this experience and hope to one day return! Thank you Margherita and Veronica for your hospitality. Your passion and love for what you do is inspiring.

Spending a day at La Querica is a beautiful experience and not to be missed! Margherita, who runs the cooking school alongside her mother, picked us up from our nearby hotel. On arrival, she gave us a brief tour of the estate. Next, we met the other participants in the class (all of whom were pleasant and interesting). It's a small group experience of about 8 or 10 total people, which feels just right. While Veronica gives an overview of the menu, the class enjoys homemade cake and coffee. Then, the cooking begins! This is definitely a class for foodies. You don't need to come in with any skill level, but it is by no means a beginner's menu. The dishes we made included focaccia, a frittata with artichokes, a salad of fresh fava beans/mint/local cheese, a green salad with vinaigrette, pasta rolled an cut into many shapes, a fresh tomato sauce, and flourless chocolate cake topped with local strawberries. We made the first few dishes and then enjoyed them in the cooking studio with wine, then made the rest of the dishes and enjoyed them on the patio with more wine. Veronica is an excellent, highly skilled cook and very patient instructor, and it is lovely to watch her interact with her sweet daughter (especially since we were there with our daughter). Nothing is hurried, and it is a very relaxing and interesting day. We were so full by the end of the class that we skipped dinner that night. Don't hesitate to book a class at La Quercia. Though we enjoyed our hotel in Impruneta, this was so much fun that we are even contemplating a future stay at La Quercia, which is part cooking studio/part hotel. They can also arrange private dinners with a tailor-made menu, which look very appealing, and can book tastings at local wineries -- all of which would be worth doing. Just book it - it's great!

Margherita and her mom, Veronica, were amazing hosts! We took a quick 20-25 minute taxi from Florence city center and Margherita picked us up in town to take us to the estate. When we arrived, Veronica greeted us with espresso and a snack before our cooking adventure began! We made a delicious bruschetta with tomatoes and basil, ragu sauce with homemade pasta, chicken marsala with baked fennel with bechamel sauce and topped it off with tiramisu for dessert. It was so fun and relaxing. We are both semi experienced cooks and we learned very many new tips and tricks on this adventure. The estate is beyond gorgeous - very calm and serene. I look forward to visiting them again when we are back in the area!

Margherita and her mom, Veronica, were fantastic- they are so a great duo! Margherita picked us up in Florence for a short drive to their beautiful estate. The sunset on the ride over was breathtaking. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Veronica who had everything prepped for us. We snacked on cheese, wine, and taralli (round crackers) while making delicious focaccia, baked fennel with béchamel sauce, ravioli, and flourless chocolate cake with raspberries. I’m a bit more experienced in cooking/baking than my husband is and we both learned a lot of new tricks! We truly enjoyed our time with Margherita and Veronica and were so sad to leave after our session was over. They are beautiful ladies, inside and out! We hope to see them on our next visit to Italy and recommend that our our friends do too!

This class was easily the highlight of our trip to Italy. The estate itself is absolutely gorgeous, as was the short drive out there (which the instructors very helpfully assisted us with). We also learned a ton. The instructors very clearly love cooking, and they taught us lessons that extended even beyond the menu they had planned. The menu itself was amazing--bruschetta, green beans, gnocchi and sauce, meatballs, and cake--and the ingredients were very fresh. The instructors themselves were also lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed discussing the history of the estate and life in Italy with them. We would easily (and hope to) visit again in the future for another lesson.

My husband and I had the most amazing time learning to cook authentic and delicious Italian food from Veronica and Margherita. The experience made us both want to move to Italy immediately - specifically, a Tuscan estate :) I booked directly through their website (by email), and Margherita answered all of my questions promptly. The form I filled out from Margherita allowed me to request a dish to be made. My husband requested tiramisu, his favourite dessert. In the early morning, my husband and I took the bus from Florence to Impruneta. It was an inexpensive and pleasant ride. Margherita picked us and three other people up at the town square by the bus stop. She then drove us to the estate, chatting all the while. She is so friendly and engaging. The estate is beautiful but also functional. They make their own wine and olive oil on site, and grow lots of vegetables, fruits and herbs. The views of the Tuscan countryside are jawdropping. We could see the views from the comfortable kitchen of the main building, where we went for the cooking class. When we arrived, the warm and enthusiastic Veronica was preparing focaccia for us to snack on. She also had meats from All'Antico Vinao and coffee for us. Altogether, there were around 7 to 9 people in the class. Veronica taught us how to make focaccia, pasta and tiramisu. We were thrilled that she had honoured my husband's request to learn to make tiramisu. The cooking lesson is a combination of hands-on combined with observing Veronica, and at times Margherita (who assisted but was not always in the class) and asking lots of questions. Veronica makes everything look effortless, and made us confident that we could replicate her dishes at home. Veronica also cooked an additional chicken dish with peppers that was to die for. We then ate our three-course meal outside with an unobstructed and breathtaking view of the Tuscan countryside. We drank wine with our meal, and enjoyed each others' company. Veronica even poured as a little digestif! A delicious end to a fantastic meal and experience. I highly recommend this cooking class, whether it be with your partner, friends or family. It's been almost one year and I still think about it - it will stay with you too.
