What a fun afternoon- a little history, great bites, and some fun beverages! Dana was a great leader with interesting stories.

Our original food tour of The Gas Lamp District was cancelled so we were re-booked on the Old Town Food Tour, which we really enjoyed. Angela is a wonderful tour guide. We enjoyed her enthusiasm and knowledge of the area.

The food tastings were pretty good and we enjoyed the variety of restaurants we visited. My only disappointment was for the dessert. Our dessert was rootbeer floats. The ice cream was so frozen that it was hard to get to it with the plastic spoons. And, I would have preferred a pastry, cake or perhaps a churro instead of ice cream.

Dana was very knowledgeable about the seedy history of San Diego. She gets 5 stars hands down. But the pizza place (Ciro’s) that was substituted for another spot, was crappy. They were rude, had mediocre pizza, but served an excellent local brew. But back to our guide...her personality was delightful and her patience was appreciated. And the coup de grace was Dana’s magic tricks. Awesome bonus!!!

I which the young lady were more knowledgeable about the area and given us more history, The food items were not all that great.

What a great food tour. We have go on this type of tour many times in other states. This was one of the best tours yet. The guide was so informative and gave us a great history lesson on San Diego up to its present revitalization. The food was fabulous and, as a person who does not eat meat, I was given the option for a vegan version of the offered dish at each stop. It was unusually hot weather and our guide made sure we were on the shady side of the street or in an air conditioned building. Very thoughtful of her. I would recommend this tour for everyone. Yes, there is walking involved but if I could do it anyone could!

This is an easy walk around the Gas Lamp District while learning the history of the area and sampling food/beverages of the local establishments. Our guide, Kirk, was a lot of fun and gave many recommendations for the rest of our trip. We enjoyed the food and beverage samples. A great tour!

Amanda was our tour guide for our BBB tour on October 3, 2019. She was very knowledgeable and focused on key elements of history, architecture and historical personalities. I enjoyed the tour and appreciated her attention to key facts and details. She was very engaging with the 4 tour participants.
Restaurant selection was good. Meze had the best food and good ambiance. Irish pub food was not good, but ambiance was fun.
Walking pace was good; side walk lighting was problematic.

We were fortunate that the group size was small (4). Street noise, 5th Avenue music from company street party was very loud and distracting. Amanda's voice level made it difficult to hear her commentary.

Stephan was energetic, fun, and personable. He had sufficient knowledge on the brothels of San Diego. The first restaurant was great. The other two were, well, lousy. One was an empty dive bar, which if the fish taco had been good, who cares. But it wasn’t. The next was an Irish Pub. They served us a tiny dish of salty Shepard’s Pie. I enjoyed the people and the talk. I was disappointed in the “bites”.
