If you are comparing Bruny Island Tours stop and book this one!! I spend hours researching tours and things to do In Tasmania and this tour was one of our highlights!! Rick was punctual, porfessional and welcoming. The bus was spotless and had tons of windows for those of us who get a little car sick :) . It was a quick and informative ride to the ferry with only 17 people (20 max) on the bus. We learned lots of tidbits about Hobart and surrounding areas. Rick lives on Bruny and has been doing tours for ages so he knows just about everything about anyone on the island. He did an excellent job planning our stops and the timing of them. As we were leaving a destination (the Neck) the other big tour bus was pulling up. It was nice to have the viewing platform to ourselves--same to be said for the Honey Pot, Lighthouse, Cheese Place, and Fudge Tasting. We felt like rock stars being able to pre-order our incredible lunches and just rock up and have them ready. As far as lunch goes--it was divine. I shared the fishermans platter and every item was cooked perfectly ( I forgot to take a photo becasue I was so keen to five right in!!). The lighthouse tour was intimate and very interesting. The whole day was fun. We got to sample Tasmania Pepper straight from the plant and got to smell Saffron Rick picked on our way. We saw three white Wallahbys and ate the most delicious cheese, bread and oysters on Captain Cooks' Beach near Resolution Creek. The history alone makes the trip more special. You will be incredibly happy if you book this tour with Bruny Island Safari--stop researching and book it before it sells out--the only 20 spots are the real deal!! And Sundays are the busiest so book ahead if you can!!

Rather than try and navigate and drive ourselves, we opted for an all inclusive day trip with Bruny Island Safaris. We were picked up at our hotel by Rick, our driver / guide for the day. After stopping at Truganini lookout, Rick had to pick up the wherewithal for morning tea. Fresh oysters from Get Shucked Oysters, three cheeses and baguettes fresh from the wood fired oven at Bruny Island Cheese. This was all prepared by Rick at Adventure Bay while our little group had a nice walk around. Managed to see a white wallaby on the way to the lighthouse where those who wanted to go up inside were treated to a most informative tour by guide, Matt. Lunch was at the Bruny Hotel- the freshest seafood you are likely to enjoy. Just when we thought we'd eaten enough we stopped at Bruny Island Chocolate for a fudge and crumble tasting. Then on to Bruny Island Honey for a tasting. Then a return to Bruny Island Cheese Co to browse and buy - they also make craft beer. A most enjoyable day made all the better by Rick's knowledge and enthusiasm for what he does. I won't hesitate to recommend this day and will do it again.
