We had a great local guide - Cliff! He took great care of us from the moment we boarded our coach for Windsor. We left around 8 am for the drive, and returned to London in the early afternoon where we skipped the lines and toured Buckingham Palace. Highly recommend you use a guided tour - it's worth the fast entry, especially during the busy tourist season in London.

This trip is only provide bus to Windsor and back to Buckingham palace. Both places have audio tours. So, there is no point to use this tour.

The guide was sooo funny. We had time to see both places, though when you put these two big attractions together, you may not do either one of the full justice, but it worked out ok with the time, just enough..

Hope you enjoy standing in line. Stand in line at the Victoria bus station with numerous other day trips. This a day trip not a tour. This service will deliver you to Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace but that is it. So you start at the bus station waiting in line for your trip to be called. Then they will take you to your destination and another line and then finally another line for security. This isn't the fault of the day trip company. But to be honest I'm sick of crowds and lines. Once you arrive you are told that photography is not allowed in both the castle and the palace. SUCKS! So you are paying just to walk through and listen to a recording. Any memories you'd like to record, forget it. You'll have to buy the book. Then the airconditioning went out on our bus. Record heat. I know stuff happens so I'm not giving the company a single star. When leaving we did buy a book. So we could have some memory of what we had experienced. Left us thinking we should have just bought the book/DVD and skipped the whole thing. But there is something to seeing something first hand...

We arrived at Victoria Station and had no idea where to meet. Guess we were expecting someone out in front with a sign or at least a person directing us. Had to ask a competing tour company if they had any idea where were meeting. When we got to Windsor Castle we got off the bus and were sorta turned loose. I knew it was self guides but guess we were expecting the guide to at least follow us to get our hearing pieces, which were very hard to work and follow. Buckingham Palace was much better all the way around.

Loved the tour, I didn’t realise the amount of people who would be at Windsor and out guide and driver got us there nice and early so we could take full advantage of the morning. I’m glad we only booked the Windsor and buckingham palace, anything else would have been too much for 1 day.

This is the greatest scam of all. First, it is a long line to get in. You are not allowed to take pictures. I expected to find memorabilia of the Royal Family, e.g., pictures when they were young, rooms they used, toys, clothes, etc. It's like being conned into going to an art museum that does not even have any original masterpiece to show. The art pieces are from Prince Charles' collection of unknown artists that he supports. For the love of God and all that is Holy, people, do not go inside. You might as well go to the Louvre, Brisitish Museum, Prada in Spain, the Duomo in Florence or the Vatican for that matter!!!!

Such a quaint town and a beautiful castle! I can see why the queen thinks of it as her Home. Much more of personal feel than Buckingham Palace. And the grounds are gorgeous!Loved it a lot more than Buckingham palace..

Our Guide Dereck was very good at giving us the details of the day as far as timing. He was very knowledgeable as well.

So the first thing to mention is to avoid this tour during late summer months when temperatures get too hot. Both Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace have few places with ac so it gets hot. The places themselves are pretty awesome. We saw Windsor Castle first. We met at the bus terminal which was pretty chaotic but they got everyone on the buses. We had a double decker bus and it was fun to sit on the top on our way out and back to the castle. We booked through but the actual tour is through premium tours. Our guide had a lot of cool information on the trip in the bus. It should be noted that in Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace they dont allow guided tours. This means the tour guide gets you in, then you take a self guided audio tour. It's pretty easy to operate if you're tech savvy but my mother struggled to get the audio guide to work for her and eventually gave up. Also note that once you get into Windsor Castle it's about time for the changing of the guards. If you want to watch that you wont have time for the audio portion of the self guided tour. You get into the Castle about 1030, the changing of the guard is at 11-1130, the audio tour takes about an hour and a half and you have have to be back at the bus by 1. There are many other things to look at in Windsor as well including a chapel. I would suggest packing a small lunch to eat on the bus ride from Windsor to Buckingham Palace to avoid having to stop for lunch. Your tour ends at Buckingham Palace once your guide gets you in. Again its audio tours through the Palace but this time you can go at your own pace.
