Know More about this tour

After meeting your guide, youll be taken to Castle Hill, a limestone plateau more than half a mile (1 km) long situated 557 feet (170 meters) above the Danube River.

Listen to your professional guide provide a history of Castle Hill, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The first residents arrived here in the 13th century after the Mongolian invasion and shortly after built the Royal Palace, destroyed and rebuilt several times. The varied architecture you see in Castle Hill, including Gothic arches and 18th century Baroque houses, reflects the Italian and Turkish influences that followed. As you stroll around this place teeming with history, enjoy amazing views of the city.

Follow your guide to other parts of Castle Hill, also referred to as the Buda castle district, to the Hungarian national gallery, the National Library and the Castle Theatre, a former Carmelite church converted into a theater in 1784, still functioning as a theater today. Admire the Neo-Classicist style of Sndor Palace, the official residence of the Hungarian president.

After Castle Hill, take a short ride on the funicular railway, a charming cable car system built in 1870, to reach Adam Clark Square, from where youll cross the Chain bridge, a suspension bridge over the Danube River connecting the Buda and Pest (eastern and western) sides of the city.

Climb aboard a boat and during the one-hour ride along the gorgeous Danube, enjoy a soft drink (provided) and absorb more fantastic views of the water and city. The tour ends at the city center pier.

Our tour guide was very interactive and knowledgable. She was very patient with us as we love taking our selfies and wefies. It's a walking tour so if you are out doing it in October like us, make sure you are properly layered/dressed as weather was quite chilly and wet. Loads of history learnt abt the Buda and the Pest and we walked our way to the funicular ride.... LOve it! What a stunning view of Budapest. It very crowded, so if possible get on the front seat. No better way to end the day tour with boat ride between the islands. We've thoroughly enjoyed it!

The tour was great. We met our tour guide Agnus who was lovely. She spoke English very well and her knowledge of Budapest and Hungarian history was great and very detailed. You could tell she had a great love and passion for her country and the city of Budapest. The Boat ride was also very nice

Judy was wonderful-- knowledgeable and kind. Even though it rained on us, we still saw the city, heard the history, and stopped for dessert at a old bakery. The city is lovely, the history is impressive and the little sites Judy showed us were gems we would have missed if on our own.

Our guide was outstanding and did an amazing job. He was as excited to give the tour as we were to take it and his enthusiasm was contagious. This tour was wonderful and there is just so much to see in Budapest. I finished this tour feeling like a I had a much better understanding of the city as a whole.

This was an excellent tour and our guide Agnes was fab and very knowledgeable. It was a small group like the walking tour and it made it much more personal and pleasant. The information that Agnes gave us was very good. The funicular and boat ride with a free drink finished the tour off in a lovely way.

All the tours we booked with Viator for our visit to Hungary were terrible. The guides were a joke. They talked while you walked with them, and unless you were right next to them, you could not hear a thing. Plus when they talked, all made no effort to speak loud enough for the group to hear, and most did not have answers to our questions. Disappointed all the way around. Viator has always done good by me. I guess this was my turn to feel I did not get my monies worth.
