Know More about this tour

On this private walking tour, discover Budapests timeless, old world beauty and enjoy a custom, flexible itinerary. To begin the tour, your guide will meet you at your hotel, apartment, or any other preferred location in the city. Depending on your starting point, the route will vary, but you can count on seeing a number of important landmarks while your guide tells fascinating stories about Budapest's history.

One recommended itinerary is to begin the tour in Heroes square, famous for its impressive statues. Venture to the adjacent City park (and catch glimpses of the beautiful Vajdahunyad castle) before dropping by the sprawling Szchenyi Bath complex, which is known for its many thermal baths and sunny yellow facade.

Next, enjoy a ride on the Budapest Metro and a stop for complimentary coffee and a soft drink in one of the grand cafes lining Andrssy Avenue (also known as the Hungarian Champs-lyses) before crossing the Chain bridge to the Buda side of the river, where the famous Buda castle complex is found. You'll want to linger here, given the concentration of landmarks (including theRoyal Palace and the Matthias church), as well as the views overlooking the city.

Suzy Szoke is an exceptional tour guide with deep passion for her job. While providing some historical backdrop to Budapest, I had to cut her short to remind her that my tour time was up!! No wonder The Guardian has classified her as one of the 10 best tour guides globally. Budapest is a wonderful place, with Suzy’s explanation of the cultural and historical circumstances that surrounded the evolution of the city, your sight seeing experience takes on a whole different level of fascination.

I spent more than four hours with Suzy who was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, roaming all over Budapest on my first visit there. I saw as much as anyone could hope to see with a true insider who not only guided me personally but also gave me a guidebook as well. Highly recommended

Victor did a great job. He was very knowledgeable and a pleasure. He stepped in when our original guide made a mistake on the date. Suzy did a great job of getting Victor to substitute. Victor took plenty of time with us and showed us all the sites of Buda and Pest. I would recommend Victor to anyone. Thank you Suzy.

On our first day in Budapest we were very fortunate to have Richard for our private tour of Budapest. He showed us all parts of Buda and Pest that not only are for tourists but it was nice to have the personalised and historical side of both cities. Definitely do this tour on your first day as then you will be able to know how t ok get around both cities. Buda and Pest are both walking distance everywhere invest in the time to walk around. You will find hidden gems.

You don't have to take my word about Suzy - just take a look at the Guardian article which chose her as one of the world's best tour guide. In the past couple of years, my wife and I have been fortunate enough to visit a number of countries. Each time, we like to hire a local guide who can not only give us a tour of the main sites and attractions but also give us a real background in the history and culture of the city. From our experience, it is rare to find a guide who has both the knowledge and personality to really bring the city to life. Suzy is that rare example and the best tour guide we have worked with! Before our tour began, Suzy communicated with us to understand our needs so that she could organize a curated tour to exceed our expectations. She is extremely knowledgeable about the historical context of the city and country, and she gladly shared her knowledge with us. Unlike some other private tours we have taken, there was never a dull or silent moment as she was full of energy and talked for hours and was able to bring the city to life for us. She is extremely friendly, vivacious and personable. You will not regret hiring her!

Suzy's knowledge, attentiveness and passion distinguish her tour. She reached out ahead of time in order to better understand our interests and needs, and then curated a tour just for us. She brought Budapest to life with her deep knowledge of the city and Hungarian history. Suzy helped us identify where and how we would spend our additional time in the city and surrounding area. This was a truly a rich experience, and we cannot recommend it more highly!

Our personalized tour of Budapest with Suzy was the best way to finish up our short visit to this beautiful city before we began our cruise. In just a few hours, she gave us such a wealth of history and interesting stories that we realized we need to come back! With amazing energy and good humor, she knew the tricks of getting around and shared the most fascinating information about what we saw. Taking a tour with Suzy was the highlight of our stay in Budapest.
