I have booked booked a Paris Day trip twice twice this year. The first was with Viator and the next via GetYourGuide. Both were operated by Evan Evan Tours which I was not aware of at the time. I had been warned prior that they were totally unreliable and I should not bank on my trip going ahead. Needless to say both trips were subsequently cancelled. I will not be booking any Day trips to Paris or any other trips via Evan Evan tours. S Williams

The underwater train journey from London to Paris was amazing with quick check in and trains running on time! The journey was smooth and fast! Must try once you happen to visit Uk and France!

London to Paris bullet train (Eurostar) :- The Chunnel tunnel is 50.45 km in length and it takes a Eurostar train approximately 35 minutes to travel its full length. In total, the fastest journey time from London St. Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord is 2 hours and 16 minutes. Eurostar is the service that allows you to catch a train from London to Paris and beyond. There's a sea in the way, of course, but Eurostar dives under it, using the 31-mile Channel Tunnel. Eurostar fares from London to Paris or Brussels start at £44 one-way or £58 return in 2nd class, if you book in advance. Standard Premier (1st class) fares start at £112 one-way, £168 return. Booking usually opens 180 days ahead. The first train leaving Paris is at 06:43, the last at 21:13. There is an average of 16 trains a day between Paris and London, leaving approximately every 55 minutes. Travel from Paris to London on the high-speed Eurostar train. Very wonderful and great experience indeed.

Travelling to Paris from London Eurostar rail is better than Aeroplane. Only 45-60 minutes reqd for reporting. The security checks by UK and France immigration are quite fast. Then you board the train 10-15 minutes before schedule time of departure. The train leaves dot on time and the journey is awesome. No vibrations even at 300 kmph. In first class you are served yummy snacks. Otherwise pantry is located in midst of train boggies. The train passes a channel of 31 kms under the sea and crossing the tunnel takes appox 10 minutes. Overall a great experience. One must travel if visiting Europe.

I purchased the budget independent rail tour with metro day pass and it was the perfect way to visit Paris for a day from London. The cost of the Eurostar tickets were less than purchasing directly through Eurostar. The tour company met us the morning of departure and provided an envelope with our train tickets, day pass for the metro, Paris map, and guide to checking in and traveling on the Eurostar. The guide was very informative as she explained the check in, security, immigration processes both ways. This was much more than I had expected from an independent tour. Really good service.

good rate overall but with the express train out there were no stops so I/we expected the same on the return and were not told there would be at least 1 (more?) so we rushed to beat everyone off the train to try to get a taxi only to find out we were 40 miles or so outside of London. Luckily there was another train about 30 min later we were able to catch back to London.

I can see where people are coming from in previous reviews but that was not our experience. We purchased and printed return tickets in Australia. London side was easy and reasonable quick considering we cleared French customs at London. You do not get a true experience of the speed of the train unless you read the screen in the carriage. Nobody could log on to the WIFI in the carriages. The 3 d headsets were a con as no internet. The kids were disappointed. The trip was fine except for the smell of all the carry on food other travelers bought on. Arrival Nord was annoying as others stated. Many people bustling around but we were not hassled. The taxi rank appeared to be well run but when we got a return Uber from the hotel it was only half the outway trip costs. Maybe we were taken the scenic route... Not sure. I was watching UK tv in the hotel on my return date. Unfortunately, I was taking notice of the time on the TV and not Paris time. Hence lost an hour and missed our train. Thirty minutes check in or you are rejected. Paris workers were on a go slow. Our London Paris train was canceled. Received an email the day b4. Had to rebook but was not really an issue. Fourty Euro each to rebook on the next train an hour later. Seating is scarce at both terminals. Overall I found it a good service.

I really liked how fast the train was and semi comfortable. It's great that the wifi was strong, but was better to use when going under the channel. We don't understand why in the cartoon instructions on the screens in the train, they show the grandma's undergarments but not the other people. So weird!!

Despite the French SNCF strikes of April 2018 impacting our travel plans we were able to select a new Eurostar service and change departure time. The only problem was having to wait nearly 40 minutes for an operator when calling to amend the booking. I understand they will be busy dealing with all the changes and the operator should commit additional resources and keep a customer focus. London St Pancras is well signed and easy to access for Eurostar departures, Paris Gare du Nord is ok for arrival and we depart in a few days...so there may be more to write. Interconnecting with Paris Metro is currently something of a mess as Line 4 is closed for renovation and signage at Gard du Nord is poor. After several journeys on the Metro I have come to understand the system, but the Eurostar operators should provide better information for arriving passengers especially those purchasing Metro tickets on board prior to arriving in Paris. The Eurostar journey was fine. There is ample room and the seats are comfortable enough for a few hours. Our original seats were specifically selected as we wished to travel facing in the direction of travel (forward). When our train was cancelled and re-scheduled we were assigned seats facing backward. It is likely that with the strikes these were the only seats available, however, we should have been advised of this and given the opportunity to accept them or wait for another service when our preferred seats were available. Again, Eurostar need to lift their customer service focus to be a really good customer service provider. Once on board, luggage stowed and train departed it became clear that signage, route information and seat features are poor or at least poorly explained. Announcements were made advising passengers of the availability of the bar and snack service, located in the middle of the train. There was no information, however, about how to locate the middle of the train. Eventually we noticed a small sign on the carriage wall pointing in the direction of the food and drink services. It would be so much easier if this was addressed on boarding, or at least in the on board magazine. Passanger behaviour also needs to be more actively managed by the crew. We had a noisy and intoxicated group of travellers in our carriage who made the journey somewhat uncomforable. All the crew did was tell them to take their party to the bar, but took no further action when the group stayed in the carriage and continued to disturd others. From a pure travel convenience point of view this is a great service. 2.5 hours from central London to central Paris is unbeatable.
