Your Butchart gardens adventure starts at Victoria Harbour, where youll check in for your flight and board your seaplane for the quick journey up to the gardens, just 12 miles (19 km) north of Victoria. Enjoy the aerial views of Vancouver Island and the Haro Strait as you fly.

When you arrive at Butchart, sit down to a delicious three-course dinner in the cheerful and elegant Dining Room, one of the gardens on-site restaurants. Feast on a seasonal menu of soup or salad followed by a main course featuring regional meat or fish, and then relax over a sweet dessert and cup of coffee or tea.

Dinner lasts about 90 minutes, and then you have one hour to stroll through the gardens at your leisure. Sure, the gardens are gorgeous during the day, but at night theyre nearly magical. After the sun sets, lights come on across the gardens, creating shadows and illuminating the creatively designed displays of flowers, shrubs and trees. Its very romantic!

At around 10pm, hop inside a luxurious limousine for the 30-minute drive back to Victoria Harbour, where your tour ends.

Sample menu (you have your choice of one for each course)
First course:

  • Organic field greens with fresh blossoms and white balsamic vinaigrette
  • Potato cheddar soup with melted leeks and broccoli florets
Second course:
  • Wild BC salmon with clam and potato gratin, wilted greens, and caramelized shallot vinaigrette
  • Cowichan Valley chicken with gnocchi, asparagus, bacon, toasted pine nuts and white wine beurre blanc (butter sauce)
  • Alberni Valley pork chop with a corn and wild rice cabbage roll, smoked paprika, tomato and onion ring
Dessert (served with freshly brewed coffee or tea):
  • Signature vanilla bean crme brle with raspberry and white chocolate biscotti
  • Zuccotto: Chocolate truffle ice cream with espresso-dipped ladyfingers

    Loved our pilot Adam....gave us a Royal tour before dropping us at Butchart for tour and tea. The staff at takeoff were awesome as well. What a wonderful day...we toasted the Queen's passing at tea.

    Used the Seaplane to travel to Victoria and back! Recommend to take the gold level of travel, so you don’t have to check your luggage at the terminal! Flights were full, every seat occupied going over and back! Make sure you give yourself plenty of time for transfers! Fun to travel this way instead of taking a ferry! Check-in is easy and efficient! Planes were on time and the trip takes about 35 minutes!

    Gardens spectacular Tea lovely but remember no alcohol with tea Seaplane incredibly beautiful and safe flights!!! 125% rating!!! Will do again !

    The concept of a seaplane experience and visiting Butchart Gardens is great. However, if the plane is late (by over half an hour in our case), then the evening is one big rush, without time to enjoy the beautiful gardens. The meal was average - certainly avoid the pork, which was tough! A thoroughly disappointing event. Best feedback is to take the seaplane flight independently, and allow at least half a day separately for Butchart. Both are great - just not together in a restricted time frame. To be fair, we have negotiated some reimbursement.

    I was told I should see the Butchart Gardens so I checked into it. From where I was staying, I would have had to take a cab to the other side of Victoris, paid that fare and tip, then if I wanted dinner at the Gardens, pay for that and tip, then get back and pay for that and a tip. Instead, I took the Sea Plane Package to Butchart Gardens and I am SO glad I did. It included a sea plane ride (more than a direct route, but a little sightseeing on the way) a 3 course dinner at the Garden Restaurant which was fabulous, the entrance feel to the Garden was included, time at the garden was more than sufficient, then a stretch limo ride home. It also included ALL gratuities, so literally I did not need to spend a thing once I paid for the package. Add to that, I am a US citizen so it cost me far less in US on my credit card then Canadian. I think it would have cost more to put it all together myself and be far less fun and interesting. The Gardens are a must see - there was also a live band there that night, the plane ride was great and gave a nice aerial view of Victoria. Everyone from the agent in the airport to the limo driver and everyone in between, the pilot - everyone, was friendly, courteous and helpful. It was a great experience and I would HIGHLY recommend you do it.

    Wonderful Fly & Dine experience. Lovely tour over Victoria close to sunset. The pilot, Gavin, did a great job giving us a smooth flight despite the bumpy air from the recent storm. Butchart was lovely, and the evening ended with a bizarre but magical fireworks show. Would go again, and always look forward to my Harbour Air flights and experiences.

    We had the pleasure of meeting Graham who would be piloting our Seaplane to the Butchart Gardens. Graham was nice enough to let me ride upfront in the co-pilot seat and after a few minutes of final preparations, we were flying over the Downtown area and on our way to the Gardens.

    Graham was extremely professional, explained the areas we were flying over and provided exceptional service.

    After we landed, we had a great view of the Harbour as we approached the Butchart Gardens Private Dock.

    I highly recommend Harbour Air Seaplanes for your next flight and especially if you are headed into the Butchart Gardens. The Seaplane experience is top notch, their staff are friendly, professional and well trained and the Gardens entry was quick and painless.

    The Dinner was absolutely five star, the Gardens were exceptional and evening Fireworks are not to be missed.

    There is an option for a few extra dollars to have a Private Limo take you back to the Hotel. If you are staying on Saturday Evening for the Fireworks Display, I highly recommend this option to allow you time to enjoy the presentation.

    An excellent evening out, starting with the seaplane ride with views of Victoria followed by a delicious 3 course meal sitting on the balcony of the restaurant overlooking beautiful gardens. The gardens were stunning and immaculately kept with the most beautiful displays, fountains and a huge rose garden. Top all of that off with a chauffeur driven stretch limo to take you back to your hotel!!!
