Explore Australia's east coast from Cairns to Sydney with a guided, hop-on hop-off travel pass. Travel by rail and bus from Cairns to Sydney. Visit off the beaten destinations such as an indigenous camp in the rainforest and special Treasure Island adventure set in the Great Barrier Reef. You'll also check out the main highlights such as Airlie Beach, Rainbow Beach and Byron Bay.
You have the option to hop off and stay longer in Noosa, Brisbane, Gold Coast or Spot X surf camp. The pass is valid for up to 12 months from your date of departure. All trips are guided by fun, local guides. The driver is the guide on your own bus sections; the guides travel with you on other transport. They are there to help you get the most out of your trip point you in the right direction, find wildlife, the best cafes and nightlife spots.

You can stay on one trip with the same group and travel in the minimum time for a tour-type experience (itinerary below) or spend longer by getting on and off the bus/train at different places. All transport over your set pass route, whether in your local operators own buses, public buses, trains or boats is included in one direction, once. Hop on and off anywhere over your route, stay longer and jump back on when youre ready.

Once you have confirmed your booking you will be provided with a login to their web-app to manage your pass. Book on and off your transport; book, rate and review, and get great deals on accommodation and activities.

Travel Day: Cairns Magnetic Island

We travel by train south to Townsville, getting in around mid-afternoon and then take the ferry out to tropical Maggie Island. There is much to explore on the island, as nearly 50% of it is National Park with amazing beaches and abundant wildlife.

Travel Day: Magnetic Island Airlie Beach
In the morning your guide will join you on the Forts walk, otherwise you can do some exploring, check out the local wildlife park or just relax by the pool. In the afternoon we travel back to the mainland on the ferry, then jump on the train to Proserpine, with a transfer to Airlie Beach arriving approx. 7pm. Note: Depending on which day you depart, you may have a free day to spend on Magnetic Island.

Have a full day in Airlie Beach for activities or to relax. There are great Whitsunday Islandsoptions for any timeframe.

Travel Days: Airlie Beach Emu Park

In the early evening, transfer to the train and travel overnight to the cool coastal town of Emu Park. We spend 2 nights here giving you time to visit Great Keppel Island, take part in the Loka treasure hunt, snorkel the Great barrier reef and keep a look out for turtles at Bluff Point!

Travel Day: Emu Park - Rainbow Beach

Travel to Rainbow Beach via train and bus. Rainbow Beach is a departure point for Fraser Island or walk up to Carlo Sandblow for sunset or sunrise.

Travel Day: Rainbow Beach Byron Bay

Travel by bus through Noosa and Brisbane, westop at the Danger Point NSW/QLD border crossing for a walk to stretch your legs. Then travel on to Australias coolest surf town, Byron Bay.

Explore, party or relax and take in the laid back, beachy vibe.

Travel Day: Byron Bay - Sydney

Travel to Sydney via Spot X Surf Camp. Hop off if you want to learn to surfor just hang by the beach. Then express down to Sydney arriving in the early evening.


All transport including comfortable, fast trains between Cairns and Gympie, Stray bus between Gympie and Sydney, return Magnetic Island ferry and local transfers.
