Know More about this tour

Starting by bus from the pick-up point we arrive at the port of Athinios where we board the boat King Thiras. Our first stop is at the Volcanic Island of Nea Kameni where you walk up the ascending soil path and approach the crater of the still active Volcano to reach the crater. After reaching the crater you walk down the dirt path to the boat to continue our journey to the Island of Palea Kameni where the boat stops for around 50 meters from the opening and you can swim in the green sulphur waters of the hot springs, wet your feet or just enjoy the view. The journey continues after the hot springs to Thirassia Islandwhich was once part of Santorini before the big Explosion of the Volcano. There you stay for two hours and you have the opportunity to do some activities like swimming on the beach of Thirassia, have lunch next to the Sea or just explore the Village of Manolas with its winding steps and traditional houses. Leaving Thirasia island, King Thiras will sail under Oia, on the way back to Athinios port, where you may take wonderful pictures of the cliffs and the breathtaking scenery. The tour continues with a bus transfer to Oia Village for the sunset. The tour ends 30 minutes after the sunset. We will gather at the pickup point in Oia where the bus will be waiting to take you back to the point you started the excursion.

Excellent way to explore the best of Santorini, especially if you’re short on time. Our guide, Vaso, was very friendly and knowledgeable and made our trip great.

Many folks have written how horrible this trip was for them. We had a great time. The guide was informative and full of good spirits. It was not crowded when we went... The volcano walk was fun... and I even swam a bit....how many times can you say you have swum in a volcano???

Too many people! The boat was overcrowded and it was impossible to hear the tour guide. The volcano walk was miserable. Everyone wore flip flops, slipping and sliding. The stop on Tharaissa was a waste. 3 hours to eat in poor restaurants and swim on slimy pointed rocks. Finally, the climb up the steps of Oia was ridiculous. You could either ride a mule or walk. I can’t imagine forcing that poor mule to carry me up that hill so we hoofed it. Again, in flip flops sliding through mule xxx, it was incredibly steep and hot. In pretty good shape and it was really tough. The town was beautiful but we were so hot and miserable from the day we hopped a cab and watched the sunset after a long hot shower in our hotel. Avoid this tour at all costs!

I’ve given this review 1/5 because I can’t put zero. Our tour was with Bus travel co and kaldera cruises. Incredible disorganisation, nearly an hour wait on hot tarmac with no shade for the boat in the morning (guides didn’t have a clue and told us we couldn’t wait in the cafe across the road). No one knew what was going on. Other coaches arrived and boarded boats while we waited. Crammed liked sardines onto a old boat. Taken to the volcano to hike uphill 25mins with literally 500 other people as other boats arrived. (Booking office didn’t advise decent footwear reqd). Had to pay extra for this too. Nothing really to see at all there. As written elsewhere sulphur springs also a waste of time. Last lunch stop advertised as having lots of lovely beaches. Errr no! It has fishing ports and big rocks! No sand what so ever. No shade and nowhere to sit!!! All in all pretty awful and topped off with more chaos back at the port, waiting in hot sun for a bus, incredible ride guides (Short blonde Greek lady from caldera cruises incredibly rude and patronising) and then a 30min bus ride in a coach with no airconditioning!!

This tour we hoped would be as described, on a positive the tour guide Tanya was very good and the start of tour via the coach to the old village at top of island was excellent. As we joined the boat the tour started to go downhill, the volcano walk where hundreds of people were walking up hill was awful, far to many people, then on to the sulphur springs, which again was waste of time, as you jumped of boat to swim to area and a lot of people couldn't make it ...so brought back in a dingy. Next stop was for lunch and again very steep incline with steps if you wanted to go up to village, and really not enough time to do this to have lunch so we stayed at port edge where there was some restaurants which served poor quality food. Final stop was Oia which I was excited to see, again told to walk severe incline to village or take donkey ride up, the group which was large walking uphill for around 30mins, really struggled and unfortunately for us as we reached the top we were exhausted and decided not to visit the village and wait for sunset. We took taxi home This tour is described as relaxing and enjoyable, this is not what it's like & if you have any health issues, please avoid

We were very disappointed with this tour, firstly our pickup was 20 minutes late. Then the boat was overloaded, with very little space to sit and certainly not enough space to relax. The group was far too big for the walk up to the volcano and we had to keep stopping to allow people to catch up, since it took so long for everyone to get off the boat, then pay the entrance fee 2.5 euro. It would also have been nice to have been told to bring water and appropriate footwear. The so called sunset part of the trip consisted of us being dropped at the port in Oia 2.5 hours before sunset and told to walk up the steps and where to meet after sunset. Overall the tour was a total waste of a day, stressful and disappointing - we thought we would have a chance to just relax and enjoy the caldera - instead we were just packed into the boat like sheep. Don't book this tour - pay more and book a different one.

Just Okay... Tour Started from valcano island... after 30-40 mins climbing you will not see any valcano but a good view from top....
hot springs - they will stop the boat for 20-30 minutes for swimming. you can jump from boat if you know the swimming or wait in the boat... not worth it
Thirasia Island - good place for snacks but you cant swim because of rocks...
Visit Oia - best place for sunset
