Know More about this tour

Enjoy making a Cambodian bowl using a Khmer pottery wheel and carving tools at a ceramics studio in Siem Reap. At your selected time, meet your driver at your hotel lobby and hop aboard a tuk-tuk for the quick drive from the city center to the workshop.
On arrival, meet your instructor — a professional Cambodian artist — who explains the history of ceramic-making and demonstrates each step in the process. During your approximate 2-hour class, you’ll get behind the pottery wheel to shape your own Angkorian bowl using local clay. Afterward, your instructor helps you to use various tools to add kbach (ornamentation) to your piece.
At the end of your session set your masterpiece aside to be fired in the kiln overnight, and enjoy the tuk-tuk ride back to your hotel. Your piece will be ready for pickup the following day.

  • AMAZING EXPERIENCE! If you get the chance, please go!

  • Highly recommended!

  • Good fun for the whole family. My daughter still talks about it months later as one of the favorite things she has done. It is a little hard to communicate with the instructors, but we made it work.

  • This was a great experience! It is part of Cambodia's life and it was great to be able to learn. Sadly I couldn't take my piece home with me as I left next day early in the morning. It is an must have experience!

  • It was a nice experience for first time behind the pottery wheels. It was interesting to know that this place used 'unable to speak' labour to train us. They were experts, but they couldn't speak, and only used body languages. They helped us almost fully to make the potteries, which made us only have little time chance to do it ourselves. At end we could engrave our art on the pieces we liked and have them burn and deliver to our hotel next day. The service was good, but we were a bit disappointed that 1 of our pieces were not as how it was. It was cut off at bottom and there was a note saying sorry. They gave us another nice cup to make up to us. We found it pity for that piece, since that was a piece we chose for each other, because we were celebrating our 1000th days together in Cambodia. The packaging of delivery were all nice and good. We transported safely back to Hong Kong and I am using their gifted mug now.

  • This class was really great! It was taught by deaf potters. And part of the proceeds from this class goes towards helping the deaf school. My teacher was helpful and kind. You make 5 different pieces and you choose 1 to take home. You can take additional pieces for 5 dollars a piece. This class was a lot of fun.

  • I loved that the pottery place was run by people with hearing disabilities. My teacher wasn and #39;t very good at teaching though. My friend and #39;s teacher was amazing though, very patient. I wish they had told us to press harder into the clay when decorating. Or that the pieces shrink when baked.

  • My 12 year old son and I did this class one evening and it was so much fun! The instructors were patient, kind and funny. The only thing I'd change is that we were all done within an hour due to the small size of the class - it was just us two. The free pieces we made were delivered to our hotel in a beautiful basket and wrapped in paper well before our flight home.
