I enjoyed the many stores that I went to. The price was just right that I had 3 bags of souvenirs. Arturo was very pleasant!

This was a wonderful trip on it's own, but our tour guide Arturo (and driver Gabriel) made it an extremely memorable one. This was a large tour, about 50 or so people and only 4 of us spoke English (the rest were Colombians) but that didn't leave us at a disadvantage. Arturo was friendly, kind and took really good care of us, he kept checking on us and making good natured jokes and was very interested in making sure we had a great time. First we stopped at the Cancun sign on the beach, Arturo took everyone's photos for us. The next stop was to buy souvenirs in Mercado 28, the tour group was so big though that we spend a majority of our time in a line waiting to cash our purchases. On our way to the next stop, a chocolate store, Arturo gave us some info about Cancun, Mexican culture and traditions (Dia de los Muertos etc) This was very interesting. Finally we went to the tequila hacienda where we were shown briefly how tequila is made, the different types and there were several available to purchase, we had some time so went to another part of the shopping centre coined "Luxury Avenue" which was...WOW. There were a bunch of high end stores here (Hermes and Cartier were the standouts) my friend and I just looked around and made our small purchases and rejoined the group at the Tequila store. The excursion was fun, but Arturo made the trip! If you get him as a guide, consider yourself lucky!

Even though we found some great bargains, we were the only English speaking guests on the tour. I found out from one of the vendors, that this is one of the most popular tours for Columbians. Since everyone else spoke Spanish, our tour guide pretty much ignored us for the entirety of the trip. ALL of the commentary was delivered in Spanish and we got none of the history or information shared with other riders. Very disappointing tour.
