Know More about this tour
Start off atop a mesa with views looking out over the horizon before your guide deftly maneuvers the switchbacks of Shafer Trail. On this section of the 100-mile (161-km) White Rim Road Loop, youll make stops with very photographic vistas of the Colorado River and the view from Thelma and Louise Point.
In addition to the popular lookouts, your expert guide will take you to spots that arent as frequently visited, where youll find everything from ancient Pueblo rock art to vertical views down the canyons. Youll learn the history of the Pueblo people who inhabited the Four Corners area, and aside from the culture and history lessons, your guide will also explain the geology of the red rock canyons before you.
When you stop for a break to take photos, venture out on one of the short trails that leave from many of the viewpoints; youll get a different perspective and angle for photographing the canyons.
When this Canyonlands tour from Moab is over, your guide will return you to the town of Moab to the spot where the tour began.

We did the Canyonlands 4x4 tour as party of 3 with our guide Jim Schreck. The jeep was comfortable and our guide was excellent. We stopped at a number of viewpoints throughout the tour and Jim was very knowledgeable about local geography, geology and generally a mine of information. The scenery is spectacular and despite rough terrain and a switchback trail out of the canyon we felt safe throughout the journey. Jim was very attentive ensuring we had cold drinks, snacks and taking group photos of us. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough - well worth the cost and a brilliant experience.
Here's a National Park that doesn't get the attention it deserves. And yes, it is the site where Thelma and Louise meet their end, not the Grand Canyon. Canyonlands provides vistas and history that rate as jaw-dropping. Our guide, Jim, provided an historical, geological, and adventurous tour as we wound our way through narrow passages and steep drop-offs. Be forewarned, don't attempt this drive on your own. Thank heavens for his good driving skills as well as his knowledge. This is a tour you want to book.
It was an amazing experience. Our guide Jim did a great job talking about the history and geology of the area. He took wonderful pictures of us to send back to family. If you have problems with heights this might not be for you but for anyone with an adventurous spirit this is for you. Wonderful.
My wife and I had the pleasure of having our tour guide Jim Schreck, of Adrift Adventures, directing us on a full day tour of Arches and Canyonlands. His Knowledge of the parks, the land and the history was really amazing. The tour is definitely worthwhile and I would request Jim as my guide. The tour and company’ jeeps and schedule was great. We stayed at the Hilton Homewood suites 2 blocks away, recommend also. The tour starts at 6:45am so staying close to the office is a good idea.
We did a tour of the Canyonlands with Mark Turin. He was a great guide - very experienced and a fount of lots of information. The tour itself was spectacular. Amazing views and the joy of the 4x4 is that you get to see things you couldn’t get to on your own. Compared to all the other Adrift adventure tours we did this was the best.
Our guide Mark Trunzo was terrific...! Mark was knowledgeable and informative about the area. Moab is beautiful...! This backcountry tour is not for the faint of heart....you wind up a very narrow road in a 4x4 and are up that mountain really high.....but I would do it again for the view. We felt very safe with Mark at the wheel. We also went on the Arches tour the next day with Mark and that was awesome too....:) Thanks Mark. Kathy and Steve M. Las Vegas NV
We had a great morning on our 4x4 tour through part of Canyonlands in July! A huge shout out to our driver and "photographer" Jim. Some of the best pictures from our week long Utah vacation were taken by Jim! A super fun adventure with a lof of history along the way as well. If you want to see Cayonlands you gotta get in there, and this tour did the job. Thanks Jim and Staff at Adrfit!
A beautiful trip in the outback with a very nice guide Joshua. Top experience! Amazing views and very well guided. Nice jeep too
Traveling with a family of four, Mark was the perfect host. He is a very competent driver but also an engaging and entertaining person.
This tour was absolutely amazing. The tour left Moab and headed for Canyonlands. Along the way we stopped to see the petroglyphs. Our tour guide, Mark Trunzo, did an awesome job talking to us about these interesting pictures on the rocks. We then continued on our way into Canyonlands and Mark narrated what we were looking at for the entire tour. I have a tiny fear of heights and he made sure that I was seated in the Jeep so that my fear was alleviated a bit. The park was beautiful seeing it from the White Rim trail and Schafer road. Mark had such interesting stories about every thing we were seeing. Highly recommend this tour and tour guide!
