Everything was top notch. Awesome way to see the islands and lighthouse and still have time to enjoy other things in the area. Pilot provides great commentary and it's pretty cool landing/taking off in the field. To top things off we left our walking stick on the shuttle and Salt Air returned it to our hotel later that day.

Absolutely awesome day in the very capable hands of Daniel our pilot and driver, along with Jim who picked us up from our campsite. We debated whether to do this, as it is quite expensive however it was well worth it in every respect along with saving us a 6 hour drive. Seeing this stunning coastline from the air including many places we either couldn’t get to without a long trek or other places that were private was a real bonus. We flew up Ninety Mile Beach, we also visited Cape Reinga Lighthouse, The Giant Te Paki Sand Dunes, Tapotupotu Bay for morning coffee and muffins then flew back along the coastline over the Bay of Islands of which there are 144, and a stunning sight from the air. A day we will never forget.

This was the highlight of our time in North Island. I was hesitant to book such an costly tour, but it was worth every penny. We were lucky enough to have a great sunny day, and a lovely competent young pilot in Colin, and from take off, we were in awe of the spectacular scenery. Flying at around 1500ft, it allows you to see so much and appreciate the beauty, diversity and remoteness of the top of the North Island. We landed smoothly on a grassy hilltop and Colin drove us in a minibus to the northernmost point at Cape Reinga with its wild and rugged shoreline . It's a brisk walk down to the lighthouse but well worth the effort for the views of the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea meeting in a maelstrom of waves. After the walk, we appreciated afternoon tea at a deserted beach and then our group tackled the exhilarating experience of sliding down some steep sand hills on a board, which was great fun. The flight back was every bit as exciting as the trip there as we followed a different route along the coastline. An unexpected surprise was flying right over the Bay of Islands too and picking out all the small islands and landmarks before heading back to the airfield at KerKeri. I cannot endorse this your more highly as such a unique and worthwhile opportunity to see the top of NZ.

What an outstanding trip. From pick up by Jim in Pahia to our pilot, Colin, everything couldn't have been better or more professional. The little things are what makes it special...the tablecloth, the home baked muffins, the brush for your feet, the boot/shoe cleaner - we're still talking about! Try and get on the morning flight as light is perfect for taking photos. Make sure you book as early as possible for this trip as it sells out fast. Start saving!

The driver and pilot where lovely and the pilot had loads of interesting things to share along the way. It's a really packed day and unfortunately it felt a bit rushed between flights. As nice as the stop at the beach to have coffee was there wasn't really time to enjoy it. But it really is great value for money! The dine surfing is such a great addition to the experience. Over all one of the most amazing things I've ever done and totally worth the money!
-
An absolutely marvellous experience, well-organised and very friendly right from the first contact. The flight was brilliant, pristine scenery beneath us and blue, blue skies all around. Just as we had imagined NZ would be!
-
A perfect day and a graet experience. Many thanks to Peter and Collin for the good advice and support. The flight and the time at the Cape should not be missed!
-
An amazing trip over the Bay of Islands, Ninety Mile Beach and Cape Reinga. Colin was the best pilot and guide - he is an experienced pilot (despite his youthful looks) informative, friendly and approachable (Jim was great who transported us from Pahia to KeriKeri and return by road). Highly recommended and good value tour! Carolyn (Perth, WA)

Driving to Cape Reinga will not give you the appropriate appreciation of the northernmost part of New Zealand. We did this trip with Colin, and it was fantastic! Colin was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. We hit the high points of the Cape via car, but the flight was an incredible opportunity to appreciate the landscape that you just cannot see from a car. It is well worth the money, and is exactly as advertised. Unless you have bad weather, You will not be disappointed!

We booked a flight for 5 adults but had a call 2 hours before flying saying the morning flight had been bumpy and advising against us going. The team in the office managed to move things around and get us rebooked for the following day. We were met with a minibus to take us to the airport and then Colin flew us up and explained the various sites. Landed in the field and Colin drove the minibus up to Cape Reinga and the lighthouse. Then a drink and cake at the beach before we all tried sand boarding at another destination. A flight back taking in the other coast line and a final minibus back to the office. All i can say is that 5 adults had a great time, really worth the extra money rather than driving or taking the long coach journey. We thought it was good value for money and a really well run business who were honest and open.
