Beautiful trip with excellent guide. Made the tour one of of the best we had. Would recommend it to all.
The guide was extremely knowledgeable about belizean culture and history. 45 minute walk and 3 water crossings 1 semi challenging. Lazy river maybe too slow if you are seeking adventure.
This is a V.I.V. tour. The good: we were met at the cruise port. The guide Rocco aka "The Rock" was great, very knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to help with anything. The tubing was fun and relaxing. You just sit back and enjoyed the scenery. The guide done all the work, navigating and guiding the tubes. You do not have to carry your tube to the entry point. That is a big plus. The tubes have a mesh flooring which was much more comfortable then any I saw used by other vendors. We were in a group of 6, the maximum group size is 8. This is much better than being in a very large group like most of the other vendors including the ship tour. Basically all that gets wet is your legs and butt unless you want to get wet in the river. The cave was interesting. The ride lasted approx. 1-1.5 hour. You get to also float down the river after exiting the cave which you do not get to do with most vendors. The price($49) is the best you will find. The bad: It is a long drive (1 hr) to the debarkation point. It is a long walk(1 mile+), not a hard walk, to the tubing entry point. You walk from the end point to the entry point then float back to the beginning. You do have to carry your tube from the end point back up to the supply shelter approx. 250 yds. That's about it. If you're looking for a tubing tour, this is probably one of the best tours. Overall, it was good except for the drive to and from.
We had a wonderful experience doing this. Our tour guides were so knowledgeable and personable. They explained so much not only about the caves but about Belize as we were traveling to the caves. Would highly recommend this tour and hopefully you get Rock and Marco Polo as your guides
The tour company was very easy to find right outside of the port. They took us right over to the bus where we met with all of the guides. We took a bus ride wherein they told us all about the local culture of the country and within 45 minutes we were at the jungle entrance. We took a 40 minute walk through the jungle and had to cross 3 river beds. We got to the entrance of the tubing and it was absolutely beautiful. While they were finishing inflating our tubes we took pictures and swam in the river...very refreshing! M and M was our guide and he was amazing!! He knew everything about everything and explained in great detail the cave system and pointed out all of the neat things to see. We would definitely do this again and I would recommend to do this if you have a family with small children as the tubes have a mesh bottom and are very comfortable!
The trip was great. The tour guides were very informative and friendly. We had enough time to explore and get back to the port.
This was the most incredible experience I've ever had!! V.I.V. Tours is the ONLY way to go!!! Feualius aka Fabulous was the most informative, passionate, sincere and genuinely honest tour guide. Once we exited the cruise port, he was there, very easy to find. He did account for the time needed to tender and not dock, so that was a relief. We had a small group of only five, and that made ALL the difference. Fab was so informative and so proud of his country, that alone made the ride to the mountains wonderful. There were a LOT of people there, and they made up very large groups. Because it was just five of us and Fabulous, our tour was personal. While everyone else was just hustle and bustle to get it over with, Fabulous took us all for a cool swim before starting out, he took us to the bat cave, let us get under the waterfalls and let the other tours pass us by while he took the time to really give us an experience. V.I.V. Tours also had the better of all the inflatable tubes (quality, look, durability)... Learned SO much, and the sites were breathtaking. Going back to see the other eight cave systems... Thank you Fabulous!!!!
We had a great time and the guides were very knowledgeable. We also enjoyed the information they gave us on Belize and Belize City while we were riding to the caves. Bad part was that the bus we were riding in broke down and caused our trip to last longer. We did not get to do much shopping.
Very knowledgeable tour guides. I had to buy the crocs from at the entrance due to my swim shoes not being thick enough. Have to walk on river rocks for 30mins to the cave. Bring your own reusable water bottle due to no disposable ones allowed in the area. life jacket and helmet with light provided. Food for purchase at site is very delicious and affordable.
If we returned to Belize, we would definitely do this again! Just so much fun and a different way to explore caves, if that is your interest. This would have been a five star activity if we hadn't had to wait 20-30 minutes for them to blow up the floats at the ingress site. Many similar excursions make you carry your own float to the ingress so this was definitely an advantage to walk through the jungle with one of the guides telling us about the plants and animals we saw on the way. Note that at the national park site where you park, there are bathrooms and changing rooms as well as some local vendors and a little food. I recommend bringing your own lunch as with the long drive get to the site and then the tubing, you may be short on time to return on time to your cruise ship. They made sure we returned on time, but that made shopping and eating on site a 10 minute activity. Just so you know! But definitely, arrange this activity. And if you are in the area and not on a cruise ship, talk to this vendor about the longer cave-tubing adventures!
