  • The Rum distillery was the BEST! After all the samples, the bartender said Now you are the bartenders He left us with 12 different bottles of rum on the bar and said Have all you want, you are not driving. The 7 fathoms was the best, and I wish I bought a bottle because you can't buy it in Florida.

  • The tour itself is informative and fun. We missed the beach, but extended our stay at one of the distilleries. Tour guides were great. The only drawback to the tour was that no one had told us what the local time was, so some of us missed the original tour start, but representatives of Viator that we found took care of us and got us to the distilleries and brewery.

  • The tour was outstanding. Leo, the tour guide did a fantastic job. The only negative comment was the fact that only 15 minutes was remaining at the end of the tour to spend at the beach.

  • It was easy to locate the local guide at the cruise ship pier and off we went. The first stop was at the Tortuga Rum Cake Factory where the store staff members who were very nice were engaging in describing the various products and offering samples of the cakes and the rum used to make it. Then, we went to the Distillery which was the best segment of the Tour. We started out in the store where the host explained how the rum and other products were made, especially the Seven Fathoms brand, and poured generous samples of each. We then went on a very informative tour of the distillery while he described the process and the purpose of various machines. Although I am not much of a drinker, I thought it was very interesting and greatly appreciated the host's engaging personality and knowledge. The next stop was at the local brewery. This segment of the tour needs work. Two young women stood behind the bar and offered small glasses of the beers produced in the brewery. There was, however, no effort to describe the brewing process and no tour of the brewery. Essentially, we sat at tables in the bar/store for an hour. There were a few T-Shirts and other souvenirs to buy but there was minimal stock and, frankly, the place was kind of grimy and run down. Unfortunately, we never made it to the final leg of the tour which was the beach. That was because there were a couple of people on the tour who stayed well beyond the time frame the driver had asked us to keep at each of the prior stops, leaving the rest of us sitting in the van waiting for them to return. By the time we were supposed to head to the beach, the driver said we were behind schedule and would have only 30 minutes or so there before we had to return to the cruise terminal. We'd been to that beach before and decided that having less than 30 minutes there would have been pointless given the time it would take to settle in, change, dry off etc. So, we asked to be dropped off in town when the van passed through to give us some time for shopping before our ship left. I can understand how hard it must be for the driver to keep everyone on time and can also appreciate that some folks just don't want to have to maintain a schedule while on vacation but I wish he would have done more to track them down at each stop. However, the driver/guide was very good, telling us a lot about the Cayman Islands during our drive. Nice job! Overall, this Tour was pretty much as advertised but, in my opinion, would be better if tweaked a bit. The stop at the brewery just sitting there for an hour was a waste of time - especially coming after the distillery segment which had been so good. Perhaps it could be replaced with a stop at a nice bar at the beach. That way, some could swim while those who want to relax and drink could do so.

  • This was such a wonderful adventure. From our meeting with our Amvivo representative through the end. Our driver was very informative and personable. The people of Grand Cayman were welcoming. The distillery was by far the most informative and enjoyable. The only suggestion I have for improvement would be the directions to where the meeting location is - we had to walk several blocks and had a difficult time locating the Amvivo sign. Otherwise, this was a fabulous adventure!

  • Can not recommend this tour enough, FUN! Especially when you appreciate a distillery and brewery. Generous tastings and information. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, from our driver, to the hosts at the distillery and brewery. The tour was a value. The only thing I would change would be to have more time at the beach. We would have definitely like to have been there longer.

  • It would of been a five star except the driver was late getting to the port. Also after buying product at the rum cake factory we had to take all of the shopping goods out of the van on two of the next three stops because he had to go do something else, one of the places was the beach where you had to take all of your bags with you to the beach. The beach part just wasn't long enough. The cake factory was good, the beer and rum factory's were fantastic.

  • We were required to show up to meet at 8:30 a.m. - Tour bus did not arrive. They called another bus and driver and we didn't get out onto the tour until after 9:30 a.m. Rum Distillery was good, though only 20 minutes. Beer Brewery which we wanted to skip was an hour - way too long and we 7 of us sat outside the entire time since the driver and bus left to drive someplace else for another group! FINALLY got to the beach - chaotic! Had someone with a reasonable rate who would provide us with loungers, umbrella and a table we had a 78 yr old in the group, only to be stopped by the tour person there who said she would provide these, then remarked at the end of her little speech with 'oh, there are no tables or loungers' and walk away never to be seen again! This left us with 20 minutes to enjoy our beach stop - which we didn't. We put our 78 yr old in the shade sitting in her walker and grabbed something to drink until the bus and driver came back yes, he left again. Total waste of time - we should have just used a taxi service.

  • We were the only three people on our tour which made it nice because we could stay at the distillery and brewery longer. Unfortunately because we stayed there longer we were never able to make it to 7 mile Beach. The tour guide was great and we had a fun day.

  • Tour was very good. Unfortunately it was raining so we couldn't do the seven mile beach which was okay because we were here for the week but that wasn't there fault. We were late and they were very accommodating and knowledgeable about the island
