After being picked up from your Cebu hotel, your heritage tour of Old Cebu begins with a visit to historic Fort san pedro in Independence Park, where your knowledgeable guide will share facts about the Spanish conquest and Spains ongoing military presence.

Then step into a traditional horse-drawn carriage known as a calesa for a relaxing ride to Plaza Sugbo at City Hall. Continuing on foot, youll take a guided walking tour of Old Cebus historic sites, including the famous Magellans Cross, planted by the explorer Ferdinand Magellan in 1521. Youll also enjoy a short walk to Cebus two landmark churches, the Basilica Minore del Santo Nio and the Cebu metropolitan cathedral (the seat of the Archdiocese of Cebu).

After a look around the Museum of Sacred Treasures, take another calesa ride to Plaza Parian, surrounded by the elegant ancestral homes of Spanish and Chinese Filipinos. Youll also see different eras from Cebus history depicted on the bronze Heritage Monument by Filipino artist Eduardo Castillo, and experience the life of 19th-century aristocrats on a visit to the Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House, home of the Casa Gorordo.
