  We were a group of 6 that hired bikes with this company (5 adult bikes and 1 e bike for me). We set off to Central Park with no problem, when after about 20 minutes my e bike ran out of charge. We couldn't call the company for assistance, so I had no other choice than to say goodbye to the rest of my group and walk the bike back to the shop, which took me a good 30 minutes to do. When I got back to the shop, I was able to swap the bike for a fully charged e bike and said that I would be expecting a part refund as the original bike wasn't fully charged and the inconvenience of returning the bike to the shop ate into my rental time. The second bike I had from the shop worked fine, but I was unable to find the rest of my group, so had to cycle around by myself - not quite the family experience we were all looking forward to. At the end of the rental, I returned the bike to the shop and asked about a part refund for the inconvenience, but was rudely accused of not knowing how to switch the bike on and that it had been fully charged! If that was the case, how would I have been able to ride for 20 minutes before it cut out? They asked me what bike number I had rented and when they looked at it (which was plugged in and charging at this point) they said that it couldn't possibly be that far charged in the time that I had returned it to the shop! I wasn't asking for a full refund of the two hour rental, but a refund for the first hour, which I didn't think was unreasonable. After much discussion, a lady named Maria said that she would honour the part refund and claimed that it would take 5 days or so to reach my credit card - needless to say, no refund has been received from the company two weeks after rental. I would avoid renting from this company - there are plenty of other companies around Central Park that I'm sure are offering a much better rental service with good customer service. Shame on you Bike Rental Central Park!

  A bike ride in Central Park is a beautiful thing. Just don’t make our mistake, and patronize a real bike shop with a reputation to uphold. This is a shady tourist mill that depends on most of their customers never seeing them again. Pay attention to the increasing number of recent negative reviews - it’s a real trend. It took us three tries to get seat posts broken, baskets falling off, etc. These things can happen, but the wait to get them each fixed was long. Then they promised us they would reset our time because we’d lost 45 minutes of our two hours. This was not honored, and they tacked on a $5 “insurance” fee to boot. The person who made us the promises was no where to be found. In addition the front derailers on our tandem were disabled, and stuck in different ranges - one in high, one in medium. Their rear derailer on one was poorly adjusted, causing it to jump gears.

  The entire experience was amazing. We purchased our tickets online. When we arrived, they scanned the barcode and immediately assigned bicycles to us and helmets. We rented a basket for $2 to hold our water bottles. Bikes are in good condition, tires are good. Service was fast. We were out with our bikes in 5 to 7 minutes. Make sure to ask for the Central Park map. The central park ride itself is great. Most of it is in the shade. Stay in the bike lane. Watch out for pedestrians. The road is one way so stay vigilant. If you are tired, get off the bike and go to the side. The whole ride is uphill and downhill. Uphill can be challenging. We saw a lot of families get off and walk the bike up. Two hours was enough for us with multiple stops and many many pictures. We were back 15 minutes later and they did not charge us for the additional time. If you can physically, this is a great activity for NYC

  Close and convenient location to Central Park. Easy pickup and drop-off. Bikes are well used and not well maintained - may have some issues with shifting and braking but for a leisurely ride through Central Patk they work.

  Nothing but great things to say about these guys! Top notch service and the Trek bikes were in great shape! Highly recommend!!

  Employees were very helpful. I was happily surprised to have an employee approach me during my ride to make sure the bike was functioning properly and that all was going well. This is a well run operation!

  Biking through central park is a lot of fun. The course is mainly flat, so no need for an e-bike unless you dont want to pedal at at all. The bike rental company was easy to work with, and we got our bikes in good time. Their location near Central Park is a plus.

  Upgraded the sightseeing pass to electrical bikes plus insurance, for a group of 4, 1/2 way round central park I developed a puncture, phoned & the assistance was ‘walk it back’ (over 30min walk). At the shop they told me I was lucky I would not be charged for the puncture repair. Pathetic customer service, buyer beware.

  We booked a 2hr hire to explore Central Park but could have spent hours! Great way to explore the park. Collection and return was easy. Would definitely recommend.
