Know More about this tour

Your day trip to Chamonix departs from the Hotel Warwick in central Geneva. After boarding the open-top bus with a retractable glass roof in case of chilly weather conditions sit back and enjoy unobstructed views of the gorgeous Swiss and French Alps as you travel through the Arve Valley.

On your 90-minute drive, enjoy an informative overview of Geneva, Chamonix and the surrounding Alps region from your audio headset, with commentary available in eight languages. Cross the Swiss border into France and arrive in Chamonix, surrounded by majestic mountains and glaciers. This picturesque Alpine town is nestled at the foot of imposing Mont Blanc, the largest peak in Europe.

Thanks to your morning departure, arrive in Chamonix before the busy crowds arrive. Plus, if you have upgraded to enjoy the all-inclusive experience, your pre-ordered lift and train tickets allow you to avoid the long queues. After your guide drops you off in front of the Aiguille du Midi cable car, you're free to spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Wander by foot to discover the towns many delights, such as Parc Loisir, Muse Alpin, Lac Gaillands or Atelier Les Racines.

With your all-inclusive upgrade, take the Aiguille du Midi cable car up to 12,605 feet (3,842 meters) to a landing of permanent snow and ice for stunning panoramas of Mont Blanc and the surrounding French, Swiss and Italian Alps. At the summit, experience 'Step into the Void,' an enclosed glass platform that lets you hover weightlessly above the snow-covered valley.

Then, if you have opted for the lunch you will head back in to town and escorted to our fabulous restaurant where you will receive a two course lunch.

After your lunch, take the Montenvers railway to the Mer de Glace, descend by gondola onto the glacier and explore the ice caves that are carved out into the heart of the ice.

In the late afternoon board the open-top bus and enjoy more commentary on your scenic ride back to Geneva, this time via the north side of the valley.

Amazing trips up the mountain from Geneva. I took two teenagers and they both loved it! Amazing photos. I booked the open top bus tour but it never materialised, however, we still enjoyed the trip.

When you book this tour you are taking a chance that the spectacular French Alps will be visible from bottom to top. Depending upon the weather you may not have a view of the top or from the top - the bottom! We arrived and there was fog from the morning and we could not see the top from Chamonix! As we gazed up from within the gondola taking us up the mountain we became encased in the fog and then suddenly we broke through and saw the most spectacular view of the French Alps I have ever seen! Our photos do not do justice to the majesty of these mountains! As the fog cleared, we got to see mountains as far as the eye could see! We got to experience a paraglider taking her first sail off of the top (mid- top) of the mountain-Mt. Blanc! As we ate in the town and looked up the mountain broke through between two rooves of restaurants and it was unbelievable! Our driver was Zed and he gave us tips on how to use our time wisely for the tour! A MUST DO TOUR!!!

Amazing day with plenty of time to choose the exact activities that you want to do. We had a wonderful guide too. Definitely the highlight of my trip and one of the best tours I've done in my entire life.

Sorry, the service provider did not turn up at the hotel. The hotel person informed that this had been happening for 5 to 6 weeks, people coming, waiting and no bus turns up. SO THERE WAS NO TRIP.
    Absolutely shocking,,not expected from Viator.

    great tour

Disapointed of my excursion for the price we paid...The driver was gentle but all the rest was so-so. We paid for a full tour include the cable-car to aiguille du midi and the Montenvers railway to Mer de Glace. One week before the day of the tour we received a short e-mail to inform us that finally the Mer de Glace will be already close to maintenance on september 11th but we didn't have a partial refund because it suppose it's a combined ticket so no discount possible... The day of the tour we suppose to have a open tour bus with a unobscruted roof of glass with an audioguide in multi-language: the bus is broken and we did the road in an airport shuttle Vans without any audioguide available in french like we request when we reserve our tour and all the documentation they give us was only in english too I understand english but i'm not bilingual that why I booked this tour with an audiguide available in french. The Mont Blanc was very amazing but finally we paid more expensive than if we paid a shuttle to chamonix from geneva with a single ticket for the cable-car to aiguille du midi only instead the package we paid but not really have it with the maintenance of the montenvers railway and the bus broken without audioguide and no partial refund at all offer by the company for all this situation. We paid full price but we only have the half of the excursion at the end... I wrote to the company one week ago when i came back from europe to tell them how disapointed i was about my tour and they never answer us. That why i don't recommend this tour :

The open-top bus never happened we were taken in a comfortable mini-van instead, but there was no canned commentary as promised. The cable car rides two in all and express elevator to the top of Mont Blanc, and the views up there, were breathtaking and worth every penny spent. Lunch at the Bistro restaurant I'd opted and paid for this was nice but... different. I'll probably opt for a burger and coffee outside instead if I ever do this again - there are lots of eateries to go to, the best one in the main terminal itself. Be wary of the over-priced souvenirs on the top - they're all available down below at cheaper rates and with more variety. We had lots of time to take in the overall ambiance of the place, and Neil the driver-cum-guide was friendly, forthcoming and very informative. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone who's visiting Geneva for a couple of days or more and wants some spectacular Swiss mountain views from relative comfort.

Great tour! Beautiful views! If I could do it again, I wouldn't do the lunch and would've sat at the top of the mountain and had a beer/lunch up there. It was an amazing day that I'll forever remember!

Devastating experience. Booked this trip for an anniversary celebration with my partner, and we both flew to Geneva specially for it. Tour provider did not show up at all. Went half an hour earlier to meeting point, waited for a total 1.5 hours and countless calls being made mind you, roaming calls to the provided contact numbers of the local guide and the in case of emergency contact - to no avail. Called up Viator helpline but was put to hold citing busy influx of calls and a promise to call me back - which they never did. Only managed to call through after 4 hours - and the only response I could get was that we are sorry we can't help because there has not been any response from the local tour provider. Amazing.

Very disappointed because we had high expectations for this given the past positive reviews and the price we paid selected all the options. This ruined the entire experience because of the fact that we went to Geneva for this which means our flight tickets and accomodations are just a complete waste.

Till today, I have no response or answer from either Viator or this tour provider. Calls were never returned and answers were not received.

Very very disappointing. I'm pretty sure Chamonix itself is amazing, but do not bother with this tour unless you want a wasted air ticket, accomodations and the amount you paid for this tour.

What a brilliant day out we had. Neil the driver was good fun and also gave us great tips time wise so we wouldn't miss out on anything and still be back for the return journey-well worth the money for once in a lifetime mountain summit and glacier visit
