  • I went on this trip on the first weekend of April. It was a fairly long day, but definitely worth it. The Shrine was amazing - the walk up 400 steps was arduous and there was some clouds and rain at that point, nonetheless a great view from the top. Lunch at the restaurant by the lake was delicious, and managed to buy some Wasabi-flavoured kitkats in the gift shops :

Unfortunately the Cherry blossom wasn't out or had been and gone not sure which, but the lake was beautiful and the weather had cleared by the afternoon and so managed to get some great views and photos of Mount Fuji. May, our guide on the minibus, kept us entertained with some Japanese and origami lessons, and was obviously knowledgeable about the tour. We stopped for a couple of hours' shopping at an outlet park on the way back to Tokyo, which perhaps made the day longer than it needed to be. Nonetheless a great day trip that I would recommend.

  • The timing of the trip is just right. The places to visit are just as advertised. You have to pick the right day to go for this day trip in order to see both Mt.Fuji and Cherry Blossom. Went near mid April, weather is sunny and we got to see Mt. Fuji very clearly. Days before the trip were raining all day and hence all the cherry blossom have been gone. There isn't really a cherry blossom festival there but the festival is held at the shrine. You will need to prepare yourself to climb at least 400 steps up to the shrine to see the pagoda and also the magnificent view of Mt. Fuji really breath taking. May is the day tour guide on that day and she is very interactive. She even taught us some simple Japanese lessons on numberings which the whole bus enjoys a lot. In additional, she even gave out origami paper teaching us how to make little helmet which the Japanese kids like to make. I was a solo traveller and she took a special lookout for me am grateful for that. One more thing to highlight was the vendor Dimas who is in charge of this tour. Very responsive and prompt. Really appreciate the service provided. Truly enjoyed this day tour.
