Join Chicagos Finest Tours on a one-of-a-kind musical journey that explores how the Windy City shaped four genres of popular music; Gospel, Jazz, Blues and Rhythm & Blues.  Part One of this tour is not designed to be a complete history of Popular Music but rather, invite a discussion about an important Crossroad in American Culture a crossroad in which Chicago artists from four different musical genres built the bridge that led to the birth of Rock N Roll in the 1950s and early 60s!  Part Two (2019) of this journey will address in more detail, Rock N Roll and how Chicago help shape that music genre.

Beginning at the Hyatt Regency - 151 East Upper Wacker Drive - inside main lobby next to concierge desk, guests will embark on this one-of-a-kind musical journey that highlights the myriad contributions made by Chicago legends to Popular Music.

As this tour winds its way through the historic streets of Southside Chicago, guests will learn unknown facts about Chicagos influence on Americas music landscape.  In addition, guests will listen to our exclusive music playlist promoting many of Chicagos legendary artists whose soulful sounds defined the American music scene for decades.  

During Part One of this Musical Journey, we will travel the South Side of Chicago and follow in the greats footsteps while reveling in the echoes of Mahalia Jackson, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Bix Beiderbecke, Sam Cooke, Curtis Mayfield and so many more!           

Guests will listen as our guide thoughtfully reveals the hidden mysteries and forgotten sounds that emanated all over Chicago which helped define American music in the 20th century.  Guests will learn it truly was the sounds spawned by Chicagos great Gospel, Jazz, Blues and R & B Artists that would launch the Rock N Roll phenomenon in America and over all the world!  
The tour includes a 45 minute tour inside the legendary Chess Records studio now home to Willie Dixon's Blue Heaven Foundation!  Did you know, Willie Dixon wrote over 6,000 songs during his professional career.  Chess is home to so many amazing artists and stories about Chicago's legendary "Bluesmen" and R & B artists.  Did you know, The Rolling Stones recorded one of their albums right here at 2120 North Michigan avenue!

Guests will enjoy some of the following music venues as they traverse The Second City on this tour; Chess Records & Willie Dixon Blues Heaven Foundation (tour), Pilgrim Baptist Church, Jazz Showcase, Sunset Caf, Buddy Guy Legends (stop), 47th & MLK , Record row, "The Stroll" and so many more! 

As a warning, this tour is not for music experts but rather people who have a basic music appreciation but most importantly, possess a curiosity and desire to learn more about Chicagos musical influence in creating great music.
