Fried rice is a Chinese dish of steamed ricethat has been stir-friedin a wokand, usually, mixed with other ingredients, such as eggs, vegetables, and meat, and as such, often served as a complete dish. It is sometimes served as the penultimate dish in Chinesebanquets, just before dessert. As a homemade dish, fried rice is typically made with leftover ingredients (including vegetables and/or meat) from other dishes, leading to countless variations, being an economic hodgepodge like it is done with fried noodles.

Kung Pao chickenisspicystir-frydish made with chicken, peanuts, vegetables, and chili peppers. The classic dish in Sichuan cuisineoriginated in the Sichuan Provinceof south-western Chinaand includes Sichuan peppercorns. Although the dish is found throughout China, there are regional variations that are typically less spicy than the Sichuan serving. Kung Pao chicken is also a staple of westernized Chinese cuisine.

Dumpling (jiaozi) is a broad classification for a dish that consists of small pieces of dough (made from a variety of starch sources), often wrapped around a filling (as in raviolior wontons). The dough can be based on bread, flour, or potatoes, and may be filled with fish, meat, sweets, or vegetables. They may be cooked by boiling, frying, simmering, or steaming. Dumplings may be savoury or sweet and can be eaten by themselves, with gravyor sauce, or in soupsor stews.
