Whilst at the International antarctic centre (and included in the tour) is a 20 minute ride on the Hagglund all-terrain snow mobile.

The tour moves on to Willowbank wildlife reserve where you will enjoy a wonderful five course New Zealand carvery style buffet dinner. Prior to dinner there will be time to explore the farmyard and zoo area of the reserve. Enjoyed the whole experience. The Hagglund course was bumpy but amazing and the Antarctic center was very well set up

The guide Scott was really helpful, the commentary was very informative and also had humour in it, time management was great and overall we felt it was a good package, the van was nice and clean. Scott gave us time to have a break in the cafe for snacks and also stopped for loo . Overall was a great experience with the Viator, saw some good places .

The Hagglunds All Terrain carrier is part of the International Antarctic Centre day out and it is supposed to simulate the rough conditions experienced in the Antarctic by those who spend their time in the harsh landscape. The whole experience was part of a shore tour from the ''Majestic Princess'' when we called in at Akaroa. The Centre itself, is a great experience but I don't think the ''Hagglund's'' ride quite captures the Antarctic terrain. The vehicle itself is amazing and climbs up cliff faces with ultimate ease. I tried to capture photos of the odd angles that you find yourself in but it is far too bumpy and hair raising to get the angle you wish to achieve on film. The whole International Antarctic Centre visit is a great experience but the ''Hagglund's''; if you've got a bad back, is not for you. Don't be put off, it is a great experience, but unfortunately, not for me.

Interesting exhibits, with penguin feeding and commentary especially enjoyed. Ride on Hagglund altogether too wild for over 70's like ourselves - threw us around too violently to be appreciated. Wildlife Centre guided visit to native bird section was enthralling, close proximity to native and rare birds a real privilege.Dinner at the Casino was lovely.
