Overview
I love Shanghai and all that it has to offer. Especially since I was born and raised here. It is fun to share my wonderful city with others. I know this city's secrets, it's hidden gems, it's people, it's culture and it's most beautiful places. As a part of my Shanghai Culture Tour, you will experience my life and "Walk in My Shoes" for a day.
I will meet you at the train station. We will have breakfast together soon after and then explore the hidden gems in the "100 Year Old Shanghai" that I love. We will explore the local food market shops picking up food along the way. I am sure you will see foods you have never seen before. I am also passionate about cooking. I studied cooking to become a chef and to teach others how to prepare our local dishes. I will most enjoy cooking lunch for you at my place and you can see how I and many others live in this very crowded city. We will end our time together with a wonderful piece of our culture, a Gong-Fu Tea ceremony.

Stop At: Shanghai Confucian Temple, Shanghai
After breakfast in the Street market we will continue the journey to the Confucius Temple. We will enter and explore this historic part of our culture.
This is an amazing school and temple built built in the 1200's where Confucius previously lived and taught.
Touring it takes you though the teachings of Confucius and where he launched a school for all, regardless of social standing. The Shanghai Confucian Temple, also known as the Wen Miao Temple, is one of the four "Treasure Houses of Stone Carving Art" in China.

Breakfast - Shanghai's Early Morning Street Breakfast Market. Grab breakfast with the locals on the go to open their shops. The vendors are part of a small but close community operating in tiny kitchens.
Entry Fee to the temple
Lunch - Cindy will bering you to her place to see how she lives. She will cook the food you picked out yourself in the market. Nothing like being invited into the home of a local in Shanghai for home cooking.
Coffee and/or Tea - Cindy's Gong-Fu Cha Tea Ceremony. Chinese tea ceremony emphasizes the tea itself, rather than the ceremony. Cindy will help you to focus on what the tea tastes like, smells like, and how they compare.
