  • EXCELLENT TOUR EXCEPT FOR TOILET TRAUMA. AT MEETING POINT IN SIENA 6.15am, TAKEN TO FLORENCE AND RUSHED ONTO DOUBLE DECK COACH. THREE HOURS TO FIRST STOP. THE BUS TOILET WAS UNMARKED AND LOCKED. ONLY AFTER SEVERAL DEMANDS DID THEY OPEN IT FOR ME ONLY!

  • As indicated from previous visitors, it is a long trip - about 14 hours. We were picked up in a van and driven to the meeting place in Florence. Then to Cinque Terre. Our guide, Iris, was fun and very organized. She kept a large group in line, being able to remember and get everyone when we were moving between villages on the trains.

We were disappointed in that we were unable to take the boat to get the full view of all the villages from the water. The sea was too rough. Instead we say 4 of the 5 villages by a whirlwind tour. We took the train between villages and spend 45 min or so with 3 of the 4 and 3 hours in one of the villages. Just enough for lunch and to walk around a little.

We were expecting quaint villages with narrow streets. What we found was a typical tourist trap with lots of shops catering to the many, many visitors. It was so crowded and it wasn't even high season. There was a cruise ship harbored, so we think that was a lot of the tourists. The trains were wall to wall people. We heard more English than any other language, meaning many, many Americans were visiting at the same time.

We were able to get some beautiful pictures, even with the crowds. It is a petty place. I think I would prefer to go in the early spring and take an individual tour to get more out of the history of the villages and get beyond the touristy things. Also, try to get on the boat to see the full view. That was the most disappointing part.

  • It felt a bit rushed but if you're short in time and want to experience it then it's worth it.

  • This was a very long day trip from Siena. We joined up with other travellers from Florence, so it was an early 6:30am start. The transfers were smooth between busses, trains, and boat. We returned to Siena close to 10pm. Each stop was interesting but seemed rushed. The explanations on the bus were thorough and informative offered in 3 languages. Tour walks were fast, with little direction except for shopping and view points. We had to ask how to get to the castles, cathedrals, and fortresses. Our guide, Rafael, was increasingly frenetic through the day. He was often seen pacing, yelling into his phone and looking on the verge of a breakdown. Rafael was quite rude to several guests who asked questions regarding transfers, including my travel partner. He seemed to be insulted and took travellers questions as a affront to his professionalism. It would have been helpful to know that we had to travel with the group all the way to Florence before getting our private transfer to Siena, as we were not given time to get something to eat at our last stop. Most restaurants in Siena close their kitchens around 10pm. I would absolutely recommend this tour... with a different guide.

  • Long day, but a good way to see the towns of the Cinque Terre.

  • After a slow start, this turned out to be a very good tour. We started with a transfer from Siena, to the tour bus in Florence. The bus got lost a few times, but eventually we made it to the Cinque Terre. Wonderful, beautiful scenery, but only a short time in each location. Our boat transfer was cancelled due to the weather, but otherwise all good. The tour definitely tries to cover too much ground in one day. I would not recommend taking this tour from Siena, unless you are prepared for a very long day. We were picked up at 6.30AM, and dropped back at 10.00PM, having had no dinner. Could not fault the enthusiasm of the tour leader. The driver needs a GPS system.

  • The tour was highly enjoyable. The 5 towns were picturesque and the train ride between town was easy. Our tour guide was very helpful. But, I wish I had known that there was no bathroom on the bus. Over the long trip from Siena to Cinque Terre I had a very full and uncomfortable bladder. Misery! Once we reached the first town, most merchants did not want tourists using their bathrooms, so I was about to burst by the time we reached the train station, where there was a public bathroom. So, make sure you use the bathroom before you start the tour.

  • This was a very long day but a worthwhile one. We really wanted to see this part of Italy and the tour was the best way for us to do it and to cover a lot of ground. Our guide did a very good job of managing a large group. We enjoyed the visit very much and were glad we went. There was a traffic snafu on the reurn trip which made a long day even longer, but that was not a fault of the driver. Over all, I would certainly recommend the trip. Just be aware that you will be on the go gor 14-15 hours.

  • A full day with only short stops at the destinations. Enjoyed the experience but would have loved having more time in the villages.
