Overview
White-water Rafting Class II-III and ATV Tour Rio Balsa. Family fun, excitement, and high flying thrills. A 2.5-hour tour going on fun trails at a private farm right below the Arenal Volcano. Heading for a more fluid ride towards La Guaria and stopping at Arenal river for great pictures; paddle down roaring rapids in the afternoon.Itinerary:
Be ready for the action and Kick start your day with a Bang!! .. Is morning and is time to enjoy the trails near the Majestic presence of the Arenal Volcano on your own ATV quad inside of a private farm where you will love the views from Volcano and La Fortuna Town. Once we finish with the views we will drive around 30 minutes to get Arenal River a perfect place to get delicious cold drinks and to take a little brake before to get back to the lobby where we will have a really nice snack to get more energy to continue with your Next stop …. Balsa River. Once we get the river our raft guides will teach you everything you need to know and give you some time to demonstrate your skills before taking off on an action-packed two-hour rafting tour, the Balsa River is one of the best in the area. Our Team will stop along the way, so you can jump off the banks or take a swim. They will prepare fresh tropical fruits and offer you a refreshing ice cold drink. At the end of the tour, you will be treated to a well-deserved Costa Rican lunch. The bus will drop you at your hotel between 4:00 and 4:30 pm.

I took students to Costa and we did the water rafting in Sarapiqui river. Our tour guides were Antonio, Justin, Miguel & Mariano. EVERYONE was very kind, helpful and fun! It was one of the most exciting activities we did in Costa Rica! Brandon took pictures of us and they are excellent, high quality pictures! I highly recommend you buy the pictures, you will not regret it!

My family and I had an absolute blast on the combo trip of ATV and Rafting (with Wave Expeditions). The ATV trip had a beautiful route through the roads beside the volcano, and a fun, challenging terrain down to a waterfall and river. I would highly recommend adding the picture deal for $30 dollars. A guide follows the group and takes pictures at different spots throughout the route with a professional camera and ensures you and your fam have super cute in-action pics. Now onto the rafting trip. Bottom line: It was an absolute blast!!! The rafting guides are such a ball. They are goofy and fun and love to interact with their guests. The river in itself is one of the best rivers my family and I have been to. The rapids were challenging, but in the best way. Definitely expect to get wet. Additionally, the traditional Costa Rican lunch that was included was so delicious - without a doubt the most authentic costa rican food we had on our trip. Shoutout to Gerald and Alonso who made our rafting tour one to remember.

An incredible experience! The first 5 minutes is intense but exhilarating and helps you feel very confident about the safety of the raft and that the instructor (we had the incredible Pablo) is in total control. A perfect mix of rough water and calm stretches to take in the wildlife. Best activity during 2 weeks in Costa Rica and that’s saying something!

The atv tour was okay. We didn’t feel like it was very scenic or fun. Too much time was spent on roads, we wanted more off roading. The local tribe we got to meet was interesting. They presented some history and we tried their homemade wine. We also got a chance to shoot a bow and spear. I say spear because it was a large arrow. The art was beautiful. The white water rafting tour was fun! The tour guides were fun! Thank you Jorge for getting us wet! We got to see a lot of wildlife! Thank you for letting us ride the Bull! The fruit and the lunch with the moonshine was delicious! Thanks Jorge and Flaco!

I was incredibly scared to rafting to the point that I even cried while getting on the raft. Sivianny who was my instructor looked at me and asked if I was ok, and I replied that I was not and was really scared. He then told me that everything was going to be ok and he assured me that if anything would happens, he would take care of me. I was so scared starting but he instructed me so well that the fear faded away and I can honestly say it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Im so greatfull for the team and the experience but I’m especially greatfull for my instructor, his grace and his experience made everything so much better! Super awesome dude 🇨🇷🤍

ATV ride was disappointing. We ATV’d down the main road, not a trail, to the observation point (1/2 way) and turned around. They only took us down a muddy trail when a person in our group complained (I think it was the tour guides friend that let us use their land to ATV). Then they didn’t tell us to lift our legs going over water and our daughter burned her leg badly. Not happy. But the rest of the trip was amazing! Rafting was fun-good for beginners. Then the lunch at the farm was amazing! Highly recommend rafting without the ATV.
