Cliffs Of Moher

Spend 1.5 hours at the Cliffs of Moher - one of the world's greatest natural attractions. The cliffs stand 1/3 the size of the Empire State Building and have large populations of puffins and gannets. You can enjoy a hike or a relaxed walk, while gazing in amazement at this geological and natural beauty. The Cliffs of Moher also have shops and restaurants, anything from snacks and souvenirs available in plenty. Visitor charges at the Cliffs are included in the tour price saving you 6. You will also receive a complimentary ticket to the award winning Atlantic Edge exhibition that examines all aspects of the mighty Cliffs of Moher.

Depart from the Cliffs of Moher for a stop in Doolin, a lovely village where you may wish to enjoy a traditional Irish pub lunch (optional), maybe a seafood chowder with a pint of the local Doolineer pint (optional). On the way we will have superb views of the Atlantic coast and the Aran Islands.

Depart Doolin and visit one of the most unusual limestone surfaces anywhere - the Burren, a lunar landscape dating back 300 million years with unique features such as underground lakes and waterfalls. If it's the right season you may see one of the 26 different types of orchids that grow here right on beautiful Galway Bay. As you stroll through this rugged surface you'll understand how Neil Armstrong felt when he set foot on the moon in August 1969. The tour continues with a coastal drive along Galway Bay.

Bunratty Castle - photo stop

  • A beautiful sunny day at the Cliffs provided some amazing scenery. We were blessed with good weather on the day after Ophelia had hit the area. I would have preferred a little more time at the Cliffs, but thats what I say about all the places I really enjoy. This is one of the must see places in Ireland.

  • The places we saw were fabulous, everything we hoped for. However, the driver was not really a tour guide and seemed to struggle with how to fill in the time driving. He could have just played Irish music and let us look around, but he talked about a lot of nothing, maybe 7 sentences of Irish history, and sang to us. I have taken many other Viators in other countries and some in Dublin. I never went with such a large group as on this big bus. I prefer van size tours or a small bus. When there was a lunch stop, it was rushed and crowded so people at the end of the line had 10 minutes to eat as opposed to the people who got in line first. Viator should let people know the size of the tour group so people who don't mind large bus groups could choose that, and people who prefer van size tours could choose those.

  • Excellent tour and great scenery.
Tour guide dropped us off about 3 blocks from where we were picked up and we had to walk to the area we parked our car ...especially in a strange city and certainly not within sight of any familiar landmarks. Guide said hen couldn't drop us off at the same location he picked us up but when we called the tour operator we were told pick up and drop off was at the same location. Good thing the tour itself was good.

  • DRIVER WAS SO FUNNY !! Had a great day.

  • Wonderful day ! Weather turned out great! The bus Driver Rory was entertaining and funny! Enjoyed the Cliffs and the history and commentary ! Weather turned really bad on the drive back, but Rory was exceptional in taking care in driving. Felt very safe.

  • Beautiful sights!! A must-do when in Ireland. Highly recommend the Paddywagon tour.

  • This was a long day with a lot of walking so be prepared - we were. The sites were amazing and the driver and narrator were both excellent.

  • The tour was everything we wanted. The bus was very comfortable and we were never on it for more than an hour or so. The tour guide was terrific, didn't over talk, very informative and even sang an ditty!!! The Cliffs were beyond words and we were allowed plenty of time to view them from both sides. We also went to the Burran, which was a terrific site to see!!
All in all, we were totally satisfied with our day and couldn't have asked for more.

  • The Cliffs of Moher are amazing, had an hour and a half there. This tour stopped in Doolin for lunch 45 minutes and also visited the Burren 20 minutes. But basically you are paying for a bus trip with a little bit of history along the way. Perhaps the logistics distances to drive are such that perhaps that's the best they can do.

  • I was so excited about this tour, but due to intense fog, we saw absolutely nothing. This wasn't the tour guide or company's fault, obviously, but it was a huge disappointment and I think it's fair to tell people this is a possibility. Another disappointment was the stop in Doolin- I was under the impression we would have a lunch stop in the city, but it was a street with 3 or 4 places to eat, 1 or 2 shops and nothing else. Because we spent 1.5 hours at the visitor's center at the Cliffs because we couldn't see anything outside, I grabbed a snack there and wasn't hungry in Doolin- I had hoped to spend the time walking around the town. The Burren part of the trip was interesting and the weather was great by then. I would suggest seeing the Cliffs at the end of the tour to give the fog time to lift. The stop at Bunratty was just enough time to take pictures. I would highly recommend spending several hours there. You can get the bus from Limerick and I went the next day. There is also a very neat, old pub/restaurant there called Durty Nelly's. I personally don't understand this stop on the tour since it was only about 20 minutes, not enough time to really do anything. Overall, I was disappointed with the tour mainly because of the weather, no fault of the guide, but the company may want to consider changing the timing for optimal viewing.
