We had a wonderful time! We are from the Rockies and felt the hike was very reasonable if you have hiked before. The altitude does get to you a bit more near the top, so walk slower than you want and take breaks. The view is stunning. There is quite a stretch of glacier so either rent cramp-ons or bring them. You should bring lots of layers, a headlamp, sugar snacks and gravol (for altitude sickness), hiking boots, day pack, and your passport (there’s a police check before entering Toubkal. Lots of places to buy water along the way. Our guide, Ibrahim was amazing! He was so patient and encouraging and did so much for us! The lodge you stay at is very much “glamping.” We had an amazing time and are grateful for the experience! Thanks so much again Ibrahim!

It was amazing to be at the top of Mount Toubkal! But the way up was tougher than I expected. The guide was helpful and encouraging. It might have been better if we would have started the hike from Imlil village in the morning (not afternoon), so we could have walked slower and it might have been easier to get used to the altitude.

Tout s'est passé comme prévu...un point très positif pour les repas très bien sur les deux jours...bien organisé et bien encadré....

We had a great time climbing Toubkal with our guide Abdo, and would definitely recommend this trip - everything ran seamlessly. It's a tough climb, we'd consider ourselves quite fit and do a lot of hiking but definitely found the summit push hard. Another thing to note is make sure you have good gear if climbing in the winter. We summitted on the 5th of Feb and it was -20C at the peak. Accommodation is basic but absolutely fine for what you need for one night and the food was perfect. It's a stunning area and we'd definitely recommend visiting!

This was an overall terrific experience, all down to our Guide, Mohammed who first summited Mount Toubkal at the tender age of 8 and continues to this day. He is passionate about the Atlas, the Berber people and the wonder of mountains. I would remind all those considering it that you need to go prepared for freezing conditions both inside the Refuge and on the mountain and very spartan conditions. Wet wipes, a thermos, plenty of thermal underclothes and a head torch are all essential. Don’t get scammed by some of the unscrupulous vendors renting mountaineering equipment at extortionate prices - review the main shops and go to these.

I loved this trek. Really enjoyed being in the mountains, amazing fresh food, the refuge mattresses were comfortable and the blankets were thick and warm. Muhammed, our guide, was amazing. Someone in our group was suffering badly from altitude symptoms and he made sure that she was okay. I would advise bringing layers, windproof clothes, a headtorch and gloves. It can get cold and windy up there! Definitely recommend.

Wonderful experience trekking in The Atlas Mountains with iconic Mt Toubkal climb. Description says can be completed with basic level of fitness but we didn't feel this gave a fair expectation. We would say good level of fitness plus some trekking/mountaineering experiences required. Climbing to 3206m (basecamp) in one go is a big ascent and we certainly experienced some (mild) altitude sickness. The summit push is from basecamp to 4167m, then all the way back to Imlil ~1800m which again is a big ascent and then descent in one go. If you know you suffer with altitude, we would recommend the longer, 3-day trek option with acclimatisation trek. On the first morning we were picked up outside the nearest gate to our Riad in The Medina for the ~1hr15min drive to Imlil. There seemed to be some confusion as the guide thought we were doing the 3-day, not the 2-day trek. This meant some shuffling of plans for the company and therefore we were delayed in starting for ~2hrs. Not especially an issue for us but worth noting. Somehow a booking had not as such been made for us at the basecamp for the night but they found a couple of spots for us in one of the dorms, although our guide had to sleep on the hard seating. Warning that basecamp is not heated so you need decent layers and sleeping bag (not included, as suggested in listing). Food was decent and well received after a long day of trekking. Our guide was fabulous and took it slowly to account for the altitude. Summit push started at ~5am, although we'd have preferred to go earlier to see sunrise at the summit, rather that near the summit. Nonetheless a stunning experience. Remember your head torch though! Trekking stats: 1st day: Imlil ~1800m - Basecamp 3206m = 12km. 2nd day: Basecamp 3206m - Summit 4167 = 5km. Summit - Imlil = 17km. Total distance ~34km.

The trek itself was great and our guide Mohammed was fantastic, and we could not recommend him more. Great man and could not have done it without him. The trek is tough, so some base level fitness, determination and perseverance is 100% needed, but you will be rewarded with an incredible sense of achievement and some fantastic views! So i highly recommend. That said, what you need to be warned about is that the tour isnt quite as advertised. There is no mule, you will be carrying your own bags up, and no sleeping bag is provided, just wool blankets at the refuge (adequate, but if you want your own sleeping bag, be sure to take it). You should also ensure you have a head torch for the summit day (you will start walking at 3.30am) and. you should also be sure to have some flipflops / Jangles / Sliders to swap into at the refuge, as people take their walking boots off. As with most refuges, just be aware you will be sharing a room too with at least 12 others - great social meeting new like minded people! The final summit day hiking, is a long one, so prep yourself for that and altitude can cause people issues, so just beware of that too. Otherwise a very well organised tour.
