Know More about this tour

Hotel pickup in the Kowloon area begins in the morning. Board your coach for the transfer to Lantau Island.  Arriving at Tung Chung, climb into the Ngong Ping Cable Car and take in 360-degree views of the South China Sea and North Lantau Country Park during the 3-mile (5.7-km) journey.

At Ngong Ping, snap photos of the Tian Tan Buddha, a 112-foot-tall (34-meter) bronze statue reached via 268 steps. Your guided tour includes admission to three floors of a museum beneath the Big Buddha, including the Hall of Benevolent Merit, Hall of Remembrance, and a relic of Sakyamuni (Gautama Buddha). Continue to Po Lin Monastery, perhaps the most visited Buddhist temple in Hong Kong and a pilgrimage site for Buddhists from all over the world. Here, you're served chef-prepared vegetarian Chinese cuisine for lunch.

After returning by cable car, board your coach to Tai O fishing village, once the largest inhabited settlement on Lantau Island. The stilt houses on the waterfront — reached via a boat ride — offer a glimpse into Hong Kong's past and provide a striking contrast with the modern city.

At the conclusion of your 7-hour tour, you'll be dropped off back at your hotel in the Kowloon area.  Kindly remind the hotel pickup and return time is not calculated in this 7 hours.  You will be back to your hotel after 6pm.

  • This day tour to visit Lantau Island was an exceptional experience. Our tour guide was wonderful and the trip itself was amazing. The Crystal Cable Car was also worth the additional price.

  • Great tour to see parts of Hong Kong I wouldn and #39;t see on my own. Definitely recommend.

  • Great day trip not to be missed. Guide was wonderful and vegetarian lunch superb.

  • It was difficult to understand the tour guide. We were taken to a jewelry store when there was no mention of it in the itinerary so seeing the Big Buddha was a bit rushed.

  • The tour guide was great. He was knowledgeable and kept the group together -- no one was lost or left out. We saw many interesting things. I only wish we had more time to shop around in the fishing village. We were constantly on the go, from one place to another. Overall, it was well worth it. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see Hong Kong and the big Buddha

  • Good, but time is a little tight to visit each place.

  • Excellent tour. Would recommend it but it is a long day.

  • One of our best tours ever ... excellent and do not miss this terrific tour. Extremely well organized, professional and knowledgeable.

  • A Great way to skip the lines on the cable car. Others going to the Buddha via Cable Car had to wait up to two hours for tickets and entry to a car. Our tour went immediately to the front of the line. The Tour Guide was friendly and the Tour Bus was comfortable. Pick up and drop-off at the Hotel was simple. For the most part, time at each stop was ample - though I felt a little bit rushed for time at the Buddha. We could have stayed a bit longer to see more. The tour also visits a Diamond Store in Hong Kong for about 45 minutes which felt more like a way for the Tour Operator to get a commission rather than providing any insight into Hong Kong. Overall though, a nice tour

  • Pick up was just about on time and our guide Marco was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately you do have to endure a trip to a jewellery factory on the way - you get a quick talk and shown around and then they persistently try to sell you things and follow you around the showroom but there are free soft drinks and an opportunity to use the loos.

The cable car is excellent and you get time to wander around the Ngong Ping shops after the very tasty vegetarian lunch at Po Lin. We drove up to the Buddha and though you don't get too long up there you don't need it really as the best views are from the village/cable car. Then on to the Tai O fishing village which was really fascinating.
