This tour was absolutely wonderful! We were picked up in front of the hotel in an air-conditioned SUV by both the driver and guide who took us around the different villages. Our driver Gabby was equally fluent in English and Spanish and had a great personality. Our guide José also spoke very good English and Spanish and knew many of the owners of business we visited, which allowed us to really get to experience each location. At the coffee plantation, we saw where the coffee beans grew, walked to where they dried them out and watched while drinking fresh coffee from the plantation, then went into the factory portion to see how they ran the quality control and filled the bags with coffee. When we visit one of the Maya villages, we were able to try on the clothes and buy some of the local products of the Maya. They had a lot of beautiful clothes, bags, and small souvenirs. I’d recommend this place to buy some souvenirs because they had a large variety and several sellers so you can haggle a good price since some of them have similar goods and the prices in Antigua tend to be higher. The Jade factory we visited was interesting and behind the shop they had a place where you could buy all sorts of Jade jewelry and goods. They even find your day on the Mayan Calendar and your sign, explain it to you and give you the chance to buy a piece of Jade with your symbol on it. By the time we reached the chocolate factory, the workers had gone home so we didn’t get to see the process, but we did taste the different varieties of chocolate they had. The wine tasting was actually in someone’s home where you entered a courtyard and got to choose which kinds you would like to try. The guide helped us choose and of course at the end you have the option to buy some of them if you’d like. At the end of the tour, Gabby and José dropped us off at the hotel and gave us their contact info. When we visit Guatemala again, we will definitely be contacting them for other tours and I would recommend them for any of the tours they give.
