Know More about this tour

Day 1: Arequipa Colca Valley (L)
After pickup from your hotel by minivan or coach, depending on group size, youll make your way north of Arequipa to the Colca Valley. The spectacular drive to Colca will have you glued to your window as you drive through two skirts of volcanoes - Chachani and Pichu Pichu.

Pass through the Pampa Caahuas Vicuna Reserve, where youll see vicunas (a relative of the llama) roaming freely in the highlands. Then drive past typical Peruvian villages on your way to the town of Chivay, where youll enjoy lunch and then have the rest of the day free to relax, get acquainted with the town and your accommodation, and have dinner on your own. If you wish, visit the nearby hot baths (own expense; your guide can provide information on this if youre interested); if you have chosen to stay at the Colca Lodge Hotel, you can enjoy its private hot springs.

Overnight: Your selected accommodation in Chivay or at the Colca Lodge Hotel (not included)

Day 2: Colca Valley Arequipa (L)
Wake up early for the highlight of your day a glorious view of Colca Canyon. Head with your guide to the Condor Cross viewpoint, which 3,960 feet (1,200 meters) high boasts fabulous views of the canyon, one of the deepest in the world. In addition to the canyon vistas, youll also hopefully catch sight of condors flying through the air. Symbols of the Andes, these enormous birds have wingspans of up to 10.5 feet (3.2 meters), and Condor Cross is one of the best places in the area to see them!

Next, visit the villages of Maca (Achoma) and Yanque, where you can admire their well-preserved colonial churches before enjoying lunch and relaxing on the drive back to Arequipa, where your tour ends.

Views are unbelievable! We were very lucky to see condors. Colca Canyon is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

This whole trip was fantastic. Jeannette was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide, and the drive was absolutely spectacular. Both of the lunch stops were very high quality. We also saw lots of vicunas and condors - we were lucky the day was so sunny and clear for the condors. Although the altitude change was a bit difficult at times, Jeannette always checked on us and made sure we were ok to keep going. We also had a stop during the drive for Inka or Coca tea, which was very appreciated. Would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to tour the canyon in comfort! I also recommend staying at the Colca Lodge Hotel and Spa overnight - it's out of Yanque a bit, but the atmosphere and services were second to none. I wish I could have stayed there another night, in fact!

This trip was amazing and exceeds expectations. The only thing I would recommend to people is to do a two night stay in the canyon instead of only one. The resort we stayed , the Colca Canyon Lodge, was beautiful , it had a great staff , and the hot springs were the bests we have been.

Great tour - two day tour is well planned and gives you time to enjoy the trip. The views of the canyon were amazing. We stayed at El Refugio hotel in Chivay - definitely the best hotel due to the views of the canyon. It is outside the city, but the tour guides do all the transportation so you have nothing to worry about.

We had an absolutely fantastic tour and loved all that we saw. Watching the condors from the edges of the canyon was just magical -the flew so close to us and the scenery of the snow capped mountains in the backgroud was amaazing. Our guide was great, all the stops along the way were interesting and Chivay and the other smaller towns we stopped and visited certainly gave us a snapshot of Peruvian life and customs. We saw 14 condors the day that we went -they were incredible, and we got lots of great photos.
