Know More about this tour

The Columbus Monument, which opened in 1888 during the Universal Exhibition, stands at the end of La Rambla. Take the lift to the viewing gallery at the top, 179 ft. above the ground, where you can enjoybreathtaking panoramic views of the city and the port.

Christopher Columbus disembarked in Barcelona harbor when he returned from his voyage to America?.
To commemorate the event, we suggest you visit the Monument dedicated to this unique historical moment. You'll be able to admire the sculptural ensemble around the base of the magnificent Corinthian-style iron column.

When you get to the top, you'll be ableto enjoy stunning 360 views. For instance, to the north, you'll see the Gothic Quarter with the bell towers of the cathedral, Santa Maria del Mar and La Merc or the bustling Rambla. To the south, you'll see Mount Montjuc, with the castle at the top. Montjuc is also the site of museums, gardens, theaters and the Olympic Ring. If you look down, you'll see the Royal Shipyards, the Drassanes, which are home to the Museu Martim.

If you look east and follow the coastline, you'll be able to see the modern Forum area with its characteristic photo voltaic roof and skyscrapers. Closer to you, the twin towers mark the entrance to the Olympic Marina. At your feet you'll see the old harbor, the Port Vell, and the industrial port. Finally, to the west, you'll see the Parc Natural de Collserola, the vast green "lung" that surrounds the city, with the Collserola Tower and Tibidabo Amusement Park at the top.

Four of the best varieties of cava and wine with Designation of Origin status: from the coastal area of Alella to the inland region of Pla de Bages, the innovative D.O. Catalunya and world-renowned Peneds accompanied by a sweet or salty tapa while you listen to a brief explanation of your choice of wine.

You'll also findinformation about activities and discover everything there is to do in Catalonia regarding wine tourism experiences. And youll be able to buy the wines youve tasted.

  • Amazing view from the top and icing on the cake was generous tasting of a fine quality wine.

  • Nice aerial views of Barcelona.
I felt however a bit cramped in on the viewing platform even though I was the only one up the top and hopefully the glass panels will one day be cleaned or replaced altogether.
    Wine was good.

  • nice one

  • This gave first rate views all over Barcelona, not for the faint hearted though, the lift was tiny and very cramped and the viewing platform quite scary if you don't like heights, loved it though and great value for money, the free glass of wine would have cost as much as the entire tour.

  • The view was good not great. The 3 persons working there were grumpy and unfriendly.

  • We did this on the first day we arrived in Barcelona. The view from the top was amazing. We had a clear afternoon and could see for miles. We were very lucky, we took this tour around 5pm and didn't have long to wait for the lift at all. The wine tasting at the end was a lovely way to finish our time there.

  • Great place to see with a great view of Barcelona.

  • It is well worth going to the top of this well known statue to get excellent panoramic views of Barcelona. There is not much room up there and you have to wait for about 20mins to get the lift but still worth doing. However although I paid the 2.00 extra I wasn't given any wine but I didn't mind as it was a very hot and humid day.

  • This was the first thing we did while in Barcelona! It was very cool to see the city from this high up! It was nice to be able to do this anytime during the day when you purchase your ticket. Many people visit this monument but don't realize you can go inside. It was worth the money to go inside! This was the smallest elevator my husband and I have ever been in which was fun! The wine tasting inside the Columbus Monument was very refreshing. It was definitely cheaper to buy your ticket on tripadvisor ahead of time than pay inside the monument.

  • Good value and a nice view, wine tasting was nice too
