Know More about this tour

We are only 35 minutes from New orleans, yet a world apart. Our New orleans air-boat tour is a high speed adventure that is part tour, part thrill ride. You will travel at high speeds in the 6 or 9 passenger boat, then slow down and stop for photo opportunities. Along the way, you will get a personal tour by your local Captain. Our air-boats have stadium seating, so that the person in front of you does not obstruct your view, and every seat is great for experiencing the tour and viewing the wildlife. Yes, gators will get close, very close. So close, that you will be able to look into those reptilian eyes.

Alligators do hibernate in the colder months, but our experienced captains know where to look for them. On average, during the winter, you'll have better than a 50/50 chance of seeing a "gator". In the warmer months, you will see a gator. Every New orleans air-boat tour is unique and we never know what will be around the next corner. The area toured is a combination of swamp, marsh and lake. So, you may see anything from a Bald Eagle to a pelican to Osprey to an owl. It really is that diverse.

The air-boats are driven by a 454 Chevy Engine that will produce speeds of up to 35 miles an hour. They are propelled by a huge fan that will blow air from the back of the boat in excess of 200 miles an hour. These tours are truly a blast! They ride in inches of water and go where traditional boats cannot go. These boats were designed to take you to inaccessible areas of The swamp, places that you cannot reach by foot or car. It is truly a unique experience.

In combination with the airboat tour, you'll also visit the Oak Alley Plantation, which was built in 1837, with a 1/4 mile path, from River Road to the plantation house, lined with twenty-eight evenly spaced Oaks. There are additional attractions on the grounds which includes a restaurant, cafe and gift shop. The choice is yours how you would like to use your free hour.

Our visit to Oak Alley was interesting, the hierarchy of slavery was different to my preconceived ideas. The trees were amazing, the house was very grand from the outside. The only negative was the complex was far away from the air boat ride and the drive was too long.

We were picked up at the hotel and the driver had good knowledge of the area, and told us stories of the area. Oak alley was very nice and the tour guides were very good. I just wish we could spend more time there, but we needed to get to the air boat. So, the air boat was fun and the boat driver also had great knowledge of the swamp area and wild life. We saw many alligators, turtles and fish. We had alligators right up next to the boat and the driver would touch his head with his bare hand. I will defiantly do another air boat ride again.

Lucky us- it had snowed in Louisiana the day before our trip so our driver had to find a detour to the plantation- and she succeeded! Not enough time at oak alley(due to said detour). Was nice. Loved speeding on the airboat and seeing swamps etc

The double-booking (Plantation Tour and Air Boat Swamp Tour) is the way to go. The Plantation Tour was beautiful, informative and educational. The swamp tour, with talks about the flora and wildlife, as well as an exhillerating ride through the Louisiana swamp was great. What a memorable day this was!

This trip was amazing! Really informative tour of the plantation, and the airboat ride was really excellent. Lots of great photos of alligators and thrill rides with the small airboat travelling at speed.

Airboat tour fantastic, brilliant guide and exhilarating ride! Plantation tour overcrowded, way too many groups onsite and too many in our group. Would have learnt more or as much by reading up and visiting individually. Disappointing.

I really enjoyed the oak alley plantation. However since it's a combo tour it would have been nice to have a little more time at the plantation. The docents were excellent at explaining the history. The slave quarters have been reconstructed. Be aware that there are approximately 22 steps to go up to the second floor of the plantation house. If you are unable to go up the stairs, they did say they provide a video of it for you to watch. All in all it is worth the time to see. There were a lot of people there when we attended as a steam boat had docked on the Mississippi river and those guests were touring as well. The oaks are majestic. The second half of the tour was an absolute thrill for me. The smaller airboat tour allowed us to get up close and personal with the swamp, marsh, cypress and gators. Our tour guide Rocky rocked our tour. I couldn't believe all the gators we found. You will not be disappointed. I loved the speed of the airboat. So if you have a need for speed and a interest in the area you will love it. We even held a baby gator!

Airboat Capt. B.Bop is a great guide. This was our first time in the swamps and an airboat. The and #34;kid and #34; knows his stuff. We thank him for his education, humor, and common sense. The plantation tour should be on every US citizen American history requirement. It opens your eyes. Love bus driver Brian!

Highly recommend the combo tour! As soon as we got in the bus the driver was lively, funny and yet informative about NOLA's history. Oak Alley was beautiful a great place to take pictures and get a little bit of history if your into that. The mint julep2 parts bourbon there will get you going and was refreshing. Time given to walk around the place was too short though. Next was the 6 passenger air boat which was AWESOME i would highly recommend getting the smaller boat because you get more focus and get the chance to hold and the big alligators and even a baby alligator which was something if you get the stay in the bigger boats you might not get to experience.

The Oak Alley plantation were nice. And the small 6 passengers airboat tour were great. We see a lot of allegations.. The only ting when they pick us up in the hotel. I told the driver we are on the combo tours with the plantation and airboat. But he told us only for the plantation.
