Becky was a great guide. She was fun and knowledgeable. I thoroughly enjoyed the history she shared about the town and the University, and loved to hear her personal experience with the school. We had a great time!
Great, lively overview of the Cambridge campus by a recent graduate who wanted a bit more time around campus before accepting a job in London. I was surprised to learn of people on my remote family tree who had roles in establishing colleges there.
We only did the punting and the walking tour. It was last minute and it was a very good decision. The 2 young men Adam on the punt and Kam on the walk who took the tours were knowledgeable and entertaining. we really enjoyed their “trivial pursuit” details that we never would have known about otherwise if on our own. It was a busy day as the “freshers” had arrived in and Cambridge was very vibrant. That was a bit unfortunate in some ways as some colleges were closed to the public. It was a great day out and we highly recommend it.
We did both a walking and punting tour. We learned a lot during the walking tour, though we were apparently the only ones who didn't book entry to King's College. The punting tour repeated some of the information we had already heard but was so relaxing and fun. It was really a different way to see the city.
We felt that it was very poor value for money. At a cost of over US$200 we had a student led walking tour and then had to find our own way to the Punt and we got lost. The punt experience by a student was fine. So, Sophie was excellent as a walking guide, and punt was good but overpriced.
Absolutely brilliant loved it, lots of really interesting and quirky information. Iona who led our walking tour was fantastic made the tour come alive with all the stuff she knew
We had a fantastic walking tour with Francesco who was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and university and was willing to share his experience of student life in Cambridge!
Great tours. Good mix of history and current life @ Cambridge. Be good to have student guides have card payment machines to enable tips to be given
I want it to do the standard Cambridge tours so we booked a walking and a hunting tour through TripAdvisor. Our tour guide for the walking tour of the Cambridge colleges was by here recently graduated Cambridge student who majored in languages. She was just as helpful as friendly as could be, and we had a wonderful tour of the area. Lots of insights! Our tour guide for the punting experience was a young man who had applied for admission to Cambridge but was ignominiously rejected, and ended up going to another very good university. His recounting of his experience with Cambridge was humorous and honest. He also did a good job of pointing out all the sites and made it very pleasant. The people who were manning the check in at the river for the hunting boats or also extremely professional and courteous. Overall, a great experience!
The guide Zera and punting guide Adam were knowledgable and enthusiastic, making us feel that our enjoyment of their efforts really mattered. They were happy to answer questions and were cheerful. Altogether a very good value introduction to the colleges and more.
