Know More about this tour

Meet your guide near Palazzo Vecchio in central Florence and take a 30-minute walk to Mercato Centrale, a historical food market in the San Lorenzo area, to see where the locals shop. En route, stop by a local bakery for some tastings and to buy fresh bread. Then follow your friendly guide around the market stalls, and meet butchers and farmers selling vegetables from their fields in Tuscany.
The market teems with fresh fruit and quality local produce including cheese, cured meat, balsamic vinegar, sun-dried tomatoes, olives and many other Italian specialties. Select some of the finest ingredients to use later in your cooking class, and enjoy samples of some of the food and wine.

Hop aboard your minibus and travel to a farmhouse, tucked away in the Tuscan hills, where your cooking class takes place. Don your apron, which you can keep as a souvenir, and help your chef prepare a full Tuscan meal, starting with a selection of appetizers. Learn how to make proper Italian pasta using freshly laid eggs, and discover the secrets behind traditional meat sauces, using ingredients from right outside the door!

A pasta dish, pizza and classic bruschetta are all on the menu, so help your chef prepare them with fresh bread, tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil each produced on site. When the dishes are ready, take a break to eat and enjoy your creations with a glass of the regions full-bodied Chianti wine.

Then, head back to the kitchen to prepare traditional Tuscan arista (succulent roast pork) with roast potatoes, seasoned with fresh herbs from the farm. As the pork cooks, prepare a classic tiramisu, layering delicately flavored mascarpone with liquor- and coffee-soaked sponge biscuits, and learn about strong and rich Italian coffee.
The highlight of your tour comes next: sitting down to eat your 4-course meal! Savor your main course and desserts along with a carefully selected Tuscan wine while chatting to your chef and fellow lovers about your day of food.

Then, return to your minibus and relax on the journey to the start point in Florence where your tour finishes.

  • After attending the Cooking Class and Lunch at a Tuscan Farmhouse with Local Market Tour from Florence, I can truly say this was a highlight of my much awaited trip to Italy. The class began with a market tour and FOOD purchases by Chef Isak. We then proceeded to the farmhouse in the countryside on a comfortable luxury van. The chef, Carmela greeted us and from that moment on, the experiences were endless. We cooked Appetizer, Pizza, Pasta, and Dessert from scratch. The special tips each of the Chefs incorporated into the class will make such a difference when I cook at home. The atmosphere was fun, pleasant not to mention GORGEOUS and everyone had a great time cooking-hands on. This part of our trip was a lasting memory and learning experience that we will share with family and friends for the rest of our lives. I genuinely learned the techniques and appreciated the individual attention that I received. I know each of the other persons in our class had a memorable experience as well. The class could not have been more well planned. The 7 hours seemed like 2 hours. I did not want it to end. The Chianti was very good, I ordered more to be shipped and took Olive Oil with me. Thanks to everyone who make this experience such a joy, and especially Isak and Carmela, you both are what makes the experience such pleasure. I would do it again if I return - NO QUESTION.

  • Great Day Cooking with Isak. Farmhouse was fabulous, very rustic but modern. Isak was a perfect host who walked the group thru a full day of great experiences, great food and wine to finish the day. Highly recommend if you spending time in Florence very short drive from the city center.

  • The day started out with a walk through Florence, picking up our vegetables, spices and meat ingredients used for the dishes we would prepare later. Our guide/Chef, Izak, gave us sightseeing and history insight as we proceeded through the city. We then proceeded out of the city to the Tuscan hillside, where the wonderful kitchen and classroom was located and where we had spectacular views of the rolling Tuscan hillside. There we met Isaac's companion Chef, Camille, who was so energetic and fun. We made Bruschetta, Ragu, pasta noodles, pizza and tiramisu. Amazing food, so much fun! Also getting to drink some wonderful Chianti Classico wine! Highly recommended!

  • A wonderful way to spend my last day in Italy! Our guides Christina and Gloria made sure we had a great time and learned a lot along the way when we shopped in Florence for the ingredients we needed to cook our meals. Once at the lovely farm in the Tuscan hills just outside Florence, we were turned over to the talented and entertaining chef, Carmella. She taught us the secrets of making bruschetta, pasta from scratch, Ragu sauce, roast pork with potatoes and tiramisu for dessert. The pizza guys gave us a lesson on making pizza dough and cooked our individual pizzas in a wood fired oven. I thought I knew how to cook everything we made but I learned some great tips. We ate our delicious meal overlooking the farms olive grove and gardens with the skyline of Florence in the distance. A sublime experience!

  • This is one of our favorite things we did during our two week stay in Italy! The tour guide was funny and cheeky, the chefs Carlotta and the pizza chefs were knowledgeable and incredibly funny and entertaining, and the food was beyond good. Seriously, the bruschetta and pork and tiramisu were to die for. Not to mention the view from the farmhouse was the dreamy, iconic Tuscan countryside we had hoped for. My only problem with this tour is that we were dropped off 20 minutes from where we originally met with the tour group, and we were all left to try to navigate the city on our own. I felt bad for those who could not walk as well, especially considering we were all very full from all the food.

  • My favorite day of the entire trip! Our shopping guide was amazing and provided many details of Florence historic and current life. Our chefs was fun-loving and extremely skilled in teaching the class. The food, scenery, atmosphere was amazing!

  • Amazing day! Delicious food, fun cooking class, enthusiastic instructors, and gorgeous setting plus the kitchen you wish you were going home to. Looking forward to receiving the recipes. We enjoyed our guide/chef, Isak, very much. Thanks to everyone who made the day special, right down to the charming dishwasher.

  • Carmella and Isaac are fun, knowledgeable, entertaining hosts and chefs. Pizza chefs were wonderful as well. Great group. Beautiful location. Only issue was that the pick up was the train station and drop off, in the rain, far away past Ponte Vecchio. There was an offer of a taxi with a caveat that it might not come due to the rain. For me, this ruined what had been a great day......meant I had to spend their tips on a taxi.

  • Excellent experience, we really enjoyed the cooking class! Highly recommend!!
