Know More about this tour

The class will start with a visit to the Central Market in Florence, where you will enjoy the folkloristic atmosphere of the Florentine food market and do some great grocery shopping thanks to the tips and guidance of the chef, who will escort you.

Once you've gotten everything you need, you will move to the unique location where the class will take place, in the heart of Florence. During your 4-hour lesson, you will prepare a full Italian meal, from appetizer to dessert. You will first learn how to prepare all the needed ingredients by washing and cutting them, as the treatment of the raw materials is essential in cooking. You will learn how to make fresh pasta from scratch, and you will have the chance to knead it yourself with your own hands, so prepare for some action. You will also cook the sauce for it (Tomato, Rag Bolognese or Pesto), make bruschetta as a starter, craft a main course (seafood or meat) with a side dish, and finish with a dessert. Your chef will show you how to decorate your plate and you will finally have lunch with the amazing dishes you made.

Lunch will be accompanied by a local wine, water, or soft drink as you prefer. At the end of the class, you will also get a Graduation Certificate signed by the chef, as well as the recipes for the dishes you made so you might try them again at home.

  • What a great way to combine lunch, a market tour and a hands on learning experience. Julio is so very engaging and personable. He was on time, no glitches and we are ready to make our own pasta dinner. Plus, it was a great way to spend a rainy December day in Florence.

  • The experience was really fun, and the food turned out wonderfully. The tour ran very long though, and we had to leave before it ended in order to catch our train back to Rome.

Our chef was very knowledgeable and entertaining!

  • Though this was the second cooking class I took in as many days, I found that only enhanced the experience. I fully recommend trying classes throughout Italy, as the similarities help you hone your talents, and the differences make for interesting comparisons. Our teacher chef was extremely fun and friendly, and his explanations were almost scientific and fantastically thorough.

  • Julio made this experience the best part of our vacation. Making tiramisu right now!

  • The Market was closed on Sunday. The class was awesome! The chef was funny, patient and taught us a great deal. Would definitely do this one again!

  • Very fun experience. We made an amazing meal, and brought the recipes back with us so we can recreate these delicious dishes!

  • So enjoyable to go to the market first in Florence and buy all the ingredients for the cooking lesson -- and also see such nice oils, balsamic, and cheeses. Chef Julio was very good and entertaining. The directions to get to the tour start were a bit confusing.

  • This is a great class for anyone who has never cooked anything as it will give information on the differences in Italian recipes and why certain vegetables are added to cut acidity in a sauce, etc. There aren't really opportunities to do hands on cooking, more just watching and listening. The market tour was quite long and disconnected from what we actually cooked versus buying the ingredients we would need. We learned about truffles, were told there was a small discount if we bought must be an affiliate situation introduced to a leather store if we needed to buy leather, must be another affiliate and then taken back to the restaurant. The food turned out delicious, but it's quite long to sit and listen to someone talk. Definitely not the right situation for children since they wont be doing much. Julio was very kind and I'm sure doing as he's been instructed to do. Really, he was so kind, but I know I read reviews and expected something different, so I just wanted to be sure to leave a full picture.

  • We really enjoyed our cooking lesson. The chef did a great job explaining everything to us while taking us from stall to stall where we tasted truffles, and oils. We had a great time making the tiramisu, sauce, and the fresh noodles. When lunch was served it fantastic! The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars is that we were told we would get the recipes, but still haven't gotten them.
