Get ready to experience something unique. Dig your own hot pool on the beach! See the Narina teleport cave and enjoy walks in nature. Great experience, Clay our van driver and our guide was pleasant and enhanced the experience.

We had a fantastic day together with our energetic driver and guide, George, as well as the group of much younger people (Sandra from Germany, Allison from USA, Bettina from France and Charles from USA.
George took us to the "Hot Water Beach". Unfortunately, a lot of people were already there and the conditions to find the hot water springs were difficult. People had to dig very deep holes to get to the - in some places - very hot water. But we had a nice dip in the water.
Next stop was the "Cathedral Cove" and a beautiful beach. The hike down and up again was a bit strenuous mainly due to the heat (remember to bring water). If you have time, remember to do the "detour" to the look-out point above the Cathedral Cove.
Then it was time for lunch: A couple of sandwiches and a drink to take-away and enjoy at yet another beautiful beach in Hahei.
After lunch we drove to a "secret" beach called "Sailors Grave" or "Te Karo Bay" - absolutely beautiful, and none of us were willing to leave this spot, which we had all by ourselves.
We enjoyed the trip (despite the fact that we were twice the age of the companions). Thanks to George for a wonderful day out of Auckland.

This is a great day trip from Auckland to see so much of the Coromandel Peninsula, and the stunning Cathedral Cove. Our guide Jojo was so welcoming and professional providing information throughout as well as some recommendations for when we returned to Auckland. All in all an amazing day!

We had a really good day with Sue. The trip was very nice and talk us about lots of tips in New Zealand.

The views were espectacular and had free time to spend in the beaches.

  • 21-Oct-2019

Very good trip. Rachel was very informative and fun. Not for people who can not hike very steep stairs

I had the best time with Rach (our tour guide/driver)! Our day began and ended with a rainbow ... that pretty much sums up how magical the day was. It was a stunning ride in a comfortable van - Rach shared interesting stories and history as we cruised through green like I have never seen before. Hot Water Beach is so amazing - and even on a misty day as we had, the hot springs are so comfortable it really didn't matter that the skies were overcast! And Cathedral Cove was such a sacred and peaceful place. It was the highlight of my month in New Zealand. Rach brought us up a short hike with magnificent views for our picnic lunch to end the tour - just spectacular!

Our entire family of five enjoyed this tour. The views and experiences were wonderful. The hot water beach, in particular, was a truly unforgettable experience. Sue, our guide was great. She was energetic, informative, friendly and accommodating. The entire day, including lunch, was worth the bus time. I'm really glad we did this.

Fantastic tour by JoJo! Very informative about the area and knew exactly where to find the hot spot at Hot Water Beach. Highly recommend taking a day tour and visit some gorgeous areas of New Zealand!

Clay was our host to the beautiful Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach. This is a must do! A long walk through the lush woods of NZ I found the secluded hidden gem to be magical and most worthwhile. Be warned to wear comfortable shoes!!! Please do not miss this and could not have asked for a better host. He was fun informative and positive!
