Cotopaxi was closed due to unusual activity from the volcano, so we went to Quilotoa instead. Oscar was a great guide - knowledgeable and friendly, and stopped several times along the way for us to get coffee, use the washroom, and learn about the indigenous peoples and how they live in the highlands. Our van was comfortable and had AC which was welcome! The visit to Quilotoa was great as well and ended with lunch at a local restaurant (get the locro de papa soup!). Would definitely recommend this tour! :)

The guides were great. Other travelers were welcoming and friendly, learned a lot about volcanoes in Ecuador. Highly recommend this tour.

Diego was an amazing guide. Full of info. Very attentive. We highly recommend him, and this tour. BUT: for people with back problems or knee issues, you probably should not home to the shelter. I'm in good shape but the bumpy road and lose Rock was tough. BUT it was magical. And the votes are awesome. And again, Diego does an outstanding job. Many thanks for our incredible first day in Quito.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. It's not often you can do a hike like this close to a major city. The hike is not long but the hut is 1000' up from the trailhead which is at around 15,000' elevation. The weather is variable. When we were there it was snowing and raining. Make sure you are acclimated to high elevations and prepared for cold. Bring warm clothing and, in the wet season, rain gear. Our guide loaned us wool gloves which were needed. Lunch will be late in the day. You might want to bring some food and water.

We had an incredible day at Cotopaxi National Park with our guide Oscar. During the drive, he explained the geography of Quito, Cotopaxi and the surrounding areas to us, and also helped answer any questions we had about Ecuadorian life and the country's history. The climb to the respite itself was a little tough given the altitude and steep ascent, however totally doable. Oscar let us take our time, enjoying the view and taking pictures along the way. We also enjoyed a beautiful walk around the lagoon and a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to leave the hustle and bustle of the city for some time in nature.

Diego was a fantastic guide! The trip was amazing and enjoyed by all. We weren’t totally prepared for the cold and high altitude so make sure you bring warm clothes and take it slow. We did buy hats at the entrance and we were glad we did.

Will never forget this experience! It’s quite the trek to get to the refuge center, but so worth it. The guide was great and regularly checked in on the group.

Very personable and passionate guide paired with a skilled driver. Even with cloudy weather it was a powerful experience on the volcanic slopes and surrounding grassland
