Jason from Deeprift Ventours was great. A courteous host, safe driver, and got us in and out of each site with ease. He knew all the staff and seemed to get us preferred status.
Jason was an excellent guide for our day trip to the lion park and caves! He was so kind and answered all of our questions along the way. We had a great time at the park and caves!
Excellent and informative tours with Jason. He has a great, comfortable and spacious vehicle. He added greatly to the experience throughout the journey with interesting insights about the area and the venues. We left luggage and valuables in the car under Jason's care, and he looked after our belongings with the utmost care.
Fun to see the lions! Not really a safari, but still fun to see them close up. Cradle of humankind is a very unique and interesting experience. Jason was our driver. He was great!
We had an extra day and wanted to explore outside of Jo'Berg. This was a fantastic option. Our tour guide was on time, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. This trip did not allow us to do a real safari so we thought a morning with the lions along with several other predators would be the best second choice. It was! We took the jeep tour through the preserve with an entertaining driver who was an expert on each animal we saw. The combination of the animals and her expertise made for a perfect visit. Our second location gave us an opportunity to see more of the countryside outside of Jo'Berg, allowed us to do some "cave" hiking and learn how that part of the world is part of all of our collective origin stories.
Jason gave us a great Cradle of Humankind / Lion Safari tour. The tour schedule brought us to the Safari as it opened, when the animals were most active. One young female walked to the steel cage enclosed jeep, reared up on her hind legs and looked me straight in the eyes. Amazing. The CoH was even more interesting, showing the timeline of Earth creation through to modern homo sapien(s). Multiple skeletons found in this area document homo's evolution from 4.2 million years ago to today.
Our driver, Jason, was excellent. He was very informative and knowledgeable. And of course friendly. The lion park was the highlight of our tour, getting up close to many lions (In the safety of a caged vehicle). The cradle of civilization was also very interesting with its underground caves from which many fossils have been discovered.
I think we did the right choice when we booked this tour. Jason was the perfect guide, no matter how many questions I had, he answered all of them. He was right on time in the morning, he arranged everything, so we could enjoy the whole day. He took us to the Lion park in the morning to avoid the crowd, he even bought coffee for us, then he spent the rest of the day with us. Of course the tour was also perfect, Sterkfontein and the Cradle of Humankind was very interesting and informative. So we highly recommend this tour. Thank you, Jason! It was a pleasure to meet you.
A truly amazing experience. Getting to experience the kind was fantastic. The Cradle of Humankind was awesome, going back to where it all began.
This was an excellent tour. Our tour guide Jason was punctual, knowledgeable, and left us feeling at ease. I recommend him if you are looking for a tour guide. Going back to how it all began was a great history lesson.
