Your guides will show up, bright and early on your ships pier or hotel reception to give you a small group tour of Bergen's surroundings. This tour mixes sightseeing by high speed boat, Ferry and Minivans to access the areas where larger vehicles simply can't navigate. This means you will also see some of the secret spots, -normally available only to locals and single travelers.
After the pier / hotel pick-up you head to the Expressboat terminal where we board the high speed Catamaran bound for the northern region. This takes you out of Bergens stunning harbour where your camera needs cooling to not overheat from the many exceptional angles the seaview gives you. And you continue towards the floating Nordhordland bridge.
The Nordhordland bridge is a true engineering achievement, as is connect Bergen and the Nordhordland area with its 1600 metre long floating construction. It also marks the entrance to the stunning tidal currents of Alverstraumen where houses are drenched in the nature and the traveler feel almost able to touch the shoreline in the narrow passages.
You also pass the Mongstad refinery that is signaling the modern Norwegian economy, and where you are able to see first hand how the Norwegian oil is treated in close proximity to the nature that is so immensely important to the population. Your guide is stuffed with knowledge and will explain a variety of issues for the traveler who is interested in learning.
At Skjerjehamn Merchant station you disembark the boat, and have about 45 minutes for exploration of the magnificent buildings or the ability to grab a snack at the local restaurant before entering the awiting car. Next leap is trough the untouched nature of Masfjorden, with its many spectacles that stand unexplored to the common tourist. Keep you camera handy - as those Instagram moments are just around every corner of this tour.
After a lunch in the free - (own expence) you are returning to Bergen for using the rest of the day here.
