Know More about this tour

At 7:30am, you will be picked up from your hotel in Saigon, and then enjoy a pleasant 40-mile (65-kilometer) drive through some nice country areas northwest of Saigon. You are going to visit a massive underground network located near the area once called "Iron Triangle," which served as the termination of the Ho Chi Minh Trail. The tunnels were designed by local guerrillas as a springboard for attacking Saigon. The area was used for infiltrating Saigon intelligence agents, part cadres, and sabotage teams.

The Tet Offensive of 1968 was prepared and the necessary troops and supplies assembled in the Cu chi tunnels. The tunnels were used by Viet Cong guerrillas as hiding spots during combat, and also served as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches, and living quarters for numerous guerrilla fighters. The role of the tunnel systems served an important part in the Viet Cong resistance.

The morning will end with an authentic Vietnamese lunch at a Pho Hoa, one of Vietnams best pho (rice-noodle soup with beef or chicken) restaurant.

After lunch, start unveiling the highlights of one of Asias most vibrant and welcoming cities. Saigon (as it is still popularly known) is a cultural melting pot with something to offer every traveler. Above all, the heartfelt warmth and humor for which the Saigonese are known will stay with you long after youve departed for home. Youll be introduced to the enormous variety of exotic local produce at the sprawling Binh Tay Market in Cholon, the citys bustling Chinatown, and the colorful Thien hau pagoda. District 1 remains the heart of Saigon still with its many historic French-built landmarks the Opera House, Notre dame cathedral, Central post office, and Hotel de Ville, to name but a few. You will also visit the former Presidential Palace and the sobering War remnants museum.

Note: Some of the Cu chi tunnels have been made larger to accommodate passengers of size. Low-power lights have been installed in several of them to make traveling through them easier, and booby traps have been clearly marked.

Enjoyed a full day traveling around Ho Chi Minh city and surrounding areas with a very small, friendly group and our guide, Mr. An. He fought in the Cu Chi tunnels for 11 years when he was a child, and had some amazing insider knowledge of the area and the tunnels. We spent all morning at the tunnels., arriving before the larger tour groups and bypassing the introductory film so we could get up close views and experiences of all the sights. We watched the video before we left for the day, and then stopped for pho at a very nice and clean restaurant before driving through China Town for a while. Next we stopped at the War Remnants Museum, where we had plenty of time to look around at all the exhibits. After the museum, we went to Reunification Palace and were once again given some very detailed and interesting information as we explored the building. And finally, we stopped at the Saigon Norte-Dame Cathedral for a few photos. It was great experience, and I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone with a day to spare in Saigon. Well worth the cost and the time!

Quang was a fantastic tour guide. Very knowledgeable and speaks English well. The Cu Chi tunnels and displays were fascinating. But you need to be prepared for learning the horrors of the war. The lunch was generous and delicious. The tour in the city was equally interesting. We enjoyed the day

Excellent tour. Enough time at all of the locations visited. Very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide Mr. Hung and a comfortable brand new air conditioned mini-bus. Thank you!
