Know More about this tour

Leaving the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City behind, take a 2.5-hour journey west towards the Cambodian border bound for the Cu Chi Tunnels. The Cu Chi tunnels were built by local fighters during the Indochina conflict as a base from which the Viet Cong could operate from close to the Southern Vietnamese capital. Initial construction started in 1948 when the Viet Minh required somewhere to hide from French air attacks and by 1965, the Cu Chi tunnel complex was estimated to consist of 200km's of tunnels. It included, hospitals, schools, meeting rooms, kitchens and sleeping quarters. Life was difficult for the inhabitants and to protect against outside intruders bobby traps were laid throughout the complex.

Your local guide will take you on a fascinating tour around the Cu Chi Tunnels where you'll learn more about the conditions the Vietnamese people lived in, the hardships they faced and the amazing ingenuity employed to maintain life in the tunnels.

  • This tour was easily arranged and very well organized from the pick up, to the transportation, to the actual tour. It was a nice small size so it felt personal. The guide was engaging and very sweet. Would definitely recommend!

  • I was solo for the weekend after a regional business trip and signed up for this small group tour of the chu chi tunnels. It was very well run, on time, our guide spoke good english, and there was only about 12-15 ppl, which made for a nice size. The tunnels and exhibits are well worth seeing and just about 1.5 hrs from Ho Chi Minh city make this a great half day excursion for anyone!

  • excellent. Nicemall group. Knowlegable guide, who was very lovely.

  • This tour was well worth it! Tunnels and history are amazing, and our guide Queenie was very informative with a great sense of humour! Would recommend.

  • Knowledgeable guide, small group, comfortable transportation and a bonus little pit stop to see how rice paper cakes are made in a village nearby. Amazing experience trying to walk through the tunnels. Excellent tour, highly recommended!

  • We had a small group by chance and a really informative tour guide, it made the visit to Cu Chi easy and stress free.

  • Content disappointing. Guide not helpful or interested in the visit.

  • A must do in Saigon!! Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Crawling around through the tunnels was amazing! LOVED this tour!!

  • Fantastic tour and fantastic value. Our tour guide, Thanh from Urban Adventure was really knowledgeable. The drive over took almost 2 hours and he gave us some background on the way for 30 mins or so.
On the way we stopped at a farm where they make rice paper and we had a go at that which was fun.
We reached Cu Chi and our guide took us around the area and explained things in detail. Lots of things to see and you can fire an M16 on the way.You can go through some of the tunnels. Not too hard. We went in August and it was pretty warm which was expected. Half way along there's a shop where you can buy drinks, food and souvenirs.
There's a movie at the end and a local guide gave a bot of a low-down to enhance the experience.
Plenty of photo opportunities. Bring water :

  • Great! Nothing to complain about. I went here in June, 2016, and I still remember it fondly. I had always wanted to go here, so this was an amazing experience for me. Our guide I forget her name, but I think she was of Filipino decent was waiting for us on time at specified location. She was very nice and gave us a lot of information about the history of the area. On our way there, had a fun stop at a rice paper-making farm, where we got to try making the rice paper impossible and feeding some of the biggest pigs I've ever seen in my life. The tunnels are amazing. Even if you don't crawl through them, seeing the history and being in the area is worth it. My only advice would be to bring a pair of earplugs with you, as the tour takes a stop at a shooting range. The guns are extremely loud and you don't get earplugs until you get right next to the range. The tour isn't that long six hours or so, but that's all you need, plus in the summer, the heat can be pretty harsh, so definitely bring a drink or buy one at the entrance. Definitely do this tour if you're in the area!
