Know More about this tour

Following a morning pickup from your hotel in Puerto Plata, meet your guide and head out of the city for the journey to the Damajagua Waterfalls a site widely considered the jewel in the Dominican Republics crown. The falls carve their way through a series of ancient limestone cliffs, offering a scenic beauty that's hard to match else in the region.

On arrival, prepare yourself for some serious thrills! Follow your guide through the tropical forest as colorful native birds fly overhead, then put on your provided protective gear before your leap and splash through the crystal-clear waters. The Damajagua Waterfalls are home to 27 different falls and plunge pools surrounded on all sides by lush, green forest and, for a more serene experience, you can even ride down natural waterslides, too.

When youre done splashing through the falls, replenish lost energy with a filling buffet lunch that includes grilled meat (usually pork), white fish and chicken accompanied by salad, rice, potatoes and pasta. For dessert, enjoy a selection of local fruit.

When its time to leave the Damajagua Waterfalls behind, hop back aboard your minivan for the journey back to Puerto Plata. Your tour finishes with a hotel drop-off.

  • Great day out! Make sure you are prepared.... some people arrived for the trip in jeans and smart shirts. You need practical shoes, waterproof and active clothes.
The description does not tell you as part of the day you jump a narrow 32ft drop into water, there is the option to walk down a lot of steps as well but be prepared to be taken out of your comfort zone.
Take a bottle of water, its a steep hot walk up to the first water fall.

  • This tour was absolutely amazing. The ride from the hotel to the falls was very scenic and the tour guide was very informative. The falls themselves were absolutely stunning. There is a long walk before you get to the falls, so make sure you understand that you will be active. Some people were complaining about the walk but if you are in moderate shape, it shouldn't be a problem. Lunch was also very delicious.

  • Great if you want to jump and slide. Would have been better if you had two tour guides so if you want to go to the top you can. Not good if you don and #39;t want to jump or slide. Led to small area to swim instead. Bonus, you get to see townships along the way.

  • We only did the 12 falls but it was a blast!! They had a photographer come with us so we didnt even need to bring our own camera, he got pictures of us on every fall and throughout the tour. It did cost 35 USD to buy a usb with the pictures and videos afterwards but it was worth it because he got pictures and videos of the ENTIRE TRIP. I'd definitely recommend this!! Yunior and Ari were our guides and they made every part enjoyable.

  • What a great experience! The tour guides were funny, professional, informative, and very helpful. The pick up from the hotel was very easy and everything was planned out well. If you want to do something while in the Dominican I highly suggest doing the waterfall excursion, what a beautiful eye-opening experience!

  • It is a great to spend a day for the people who like extreme sports, exciting adventure with nature, I highly recommended.

  • We enjoyed the Damajagua Waterfalls very much. I do suggest some kind of water shoes. You are walking through water alot. Lunch was good and our hosts were very entertaining.

  • This is a once in a lifetime trip. The Tour Guide was awesome and highly informed. The walk to the falls is not an easy one. If you are not in decent shape and accustomed to uphill hiking this might not be the tour for you

  • A little disappointed that we could not do the 27 waterfalls tour that we paid for and only did the 12 but it was GREAT. The instructors were knowledgeable and really helpful to other people on the tour who were having trouble with the walking. I would do it again and again.

  • There had not been a lot of rain in Puerto Plata prior to my trip. As a result, we were unable to do all 27 waterfalls as the water was too shallow to jump. Instead we did some other neat things, like have coffee where it is made, sample cigars and mamajuana local drink, and go to a stone sculpture factory.

Further, you are not allowed to bring a camera or phone into the falls unless it is waterproof. They made a video and took pictures which were available for purchase for 30 and they would drop it off the following day. We really didn't have any interest in the video, but wanted the pics. You had to buy both, and when we got home we realized that there were no pictures on either disc. One was just an audio soundtrack and the other was just the video. : So we have zero pics of the falls.

I would recommend going bc it is gorgeous, the guides were very nice, and we had a great time. The tour just wasn't what we thought it would be, and we wound up not getting the pics we tried to purchase. We also had a hard time setting a pick up spot because we did not stay in a hotel and the tour company was very difficult to get a hold of to pick a hotel we weren't staying at...
